I'll be disappointed tomorrow if...

...Cutler falls to 17 (like is being predicted in a lot of the mocks published today) and we don't trade up to get him..

I don't want a QB quite frankly. Not in the first round. This team is playoff caliber right now. To blow a 1st on someone that isn't going to help this year... would just crush me. Plus it would mean that Romo and Henson are finished with this club.

It would mean at least one of them are. I don't see it happening now anyway, because we are building for this year and next, not the future. I do think it would be the perfect situation for Cutler though. To sit behind a proven vet for a year or two. Having an obvious heir to the Dalls QB throne would be nice.

This is such a misconception, we are building for the future while giving ourselves a chance to win now.

but if you have a legit 1st round talent that falls to you? green bay didn't pass and now they have a qb that's "legit". do we beyond bledsoe?

henson has done well in nfle. he's still a project so it would be goodbye to romo. it's got to be romo's worst nightmare TO be traded to NO these days to only sit behind a younger qb in brees. how could the 8th wonder of the world sit behind TWO qb's and continue to go unnoticed.

if cutler is there why trade? would he get taken at 17 and why would we trade up ONE spot IF that team were going to take him anyway?

if we have a shot at cutler and pass i'd be a bit surprised. jjones is allowing parcells his "final run" but he's not gonna pass on what to do next year if it falls in his lap.

yea, that explains all the 30+ vets and the NFL's posterchild for the ID syndrome we've signed these days.

parcells is on his last shot - period. he doesn't get it this year and he's gone. the 1 year extension was a favor to NOT be a lame duck coach.

no misconception - we're building for a shotgun approach at THIS year. we failed last year at it and this is the 2nd barrell of the shotgun.

hopefully when parcells has had his fun he can go back to new york and we can get back to building a "team" again.

I don't think we're making moves now at the expense of the future, but where's our focus? Definitely on the now, not the future. Not that there's anything wrong with that. If we're close, why not go for it. I'm just saying it'll be disappointing to pass on a solid QB prospect like that when we were so close.

that's a fair enough way to put it.

Are you calling Aaron Rodgers the future in Green Bay? lol He'll be lucky if he sniffs the field in the future. That might have been one of the worst picks ever.

he's the next in line to give it a shot, and that's what i'm calling him. i didn't like either qb last year so i won't get started on that debate.

But going by word of mouth out of GB, he is NOT going to be anything. So, in a sense, they wasted that pick when they could have improved their team in many other areas.

Defense- 2 starters over 30 (considering singleton who will be replaced)

Offense- 6 starters over 30 (Flo just turned 30 right?)

The team has a total of 12 players with more than 5 years of experience. 12 out of currently 65 players!

Of our offensive starters over 30, one of them had 1200 yards last season, another is one of the best WRs in the league.

2 are previous pro bowl lineman, Flo can still play at that level

Bledsoe while not great is good enough

So while some can scream all they want that we are not building for the future the numbers say you are wrong

At best he has back up quarterback talent...at best. He should have been no better than a third round pick.

Going by that, Romo and Henson are next in line for us.
