Illegal grounding

Might just be me but it seems we are the only team that has those flags thrown against us after the refs get together for a conference?

Yesterday, it probably was grounding but no flag was thrown until after Coughlin whined and the refs got together and chatted.

That kind of call never would have been made against Brady/Manning/Favre or Brees.

I could not believe that, especially after two weeks ago when Campbell clearly threw the ball three yards short of the LOS and nothing was called.

The whole rule is crazy. The ball used to have to go to the LOS, but now it's just "near" the LOS. What is "near"?

That whole lobbying after the fact really made me sick. The ref said no and instead at least being forced to throw a flag or having to use a time-out, they get to scream until the refs relent.

I also noticed no delay of game penalty after one of their clowns kicked the ball. Typical Meadowlands garbage.

It's supposed to be about a yard within the LOS. They made the right call and it wasn't to please NY. It was to correct a non-call. I didn't like it either.

I didn't have a problem with the call, it was grounding, but the fact that they didn't make the call and then let the other team talk them into it is bull. Even against the Commanders I remember a play where some Commander player spooted the ball and the idiot refs kept it where he spotted it.

Yeah the best part was that the excessive whining got the flags to come out, like almost 5 minutes worth...

Officiating didn't cost us that game, but it also didn't help us in that game very much either. Several key plays had blatant holds in open space not called. Roy got hooked on one pass play that wound up just out of his reach.

The one thing that it really seemed like we got away with was a hands to the face on Roy on one of his TD catches.

I thought the game was strikingly similar to the playoff loss against them in 07.

We dominated the time of possession.

Gave up a freak multi missed tackle TD to Toomer

Had otherwise dominated the first half until the last few minutes when their offense went through our defense like butter

Romo got a questionable grounding call

We lost

Other than passing great vs running great, it felt incredibly similar, albeit only a little less sickening

That is funny because I saw Williams get away with several push offs. It is amazing what you see from the "other side".

Hard to call a push-off when the defender has his hands all over the receiver. I think your team would have gotten the calls if they had not been grabbing Williams when he slapped them away.

The only one I thought probably should have been called against Williams is when he double-slapped the corner on the shoulder pads and caused him to fall down (because the defender didn't have his hands on Williams). But that was on the overthrow by Romo, anyway.

So were complaining that the officials got together, talked it over and eventually made the right call?

I'd much rather they let a play happen, talk about it for a second and throw a flag than be trigger happy and throw flags that shouldn't be thrown.

Not only that, I don't think roughing the passer has ever been called for Romo. The dude can get beat up and knocked to the ground and hit a good few seconds after he releases the ball, and they never call it.

Romo does that too often for my liking.

He does it in big spots, in big games.

He did against the Giants in the 2007 playoff game TOO!!!

I think the grounding call yesterday was BS as well. I think the rush caused Romo to rush the throw and the ball slipped out of his hand. I think that was his argument after the fact. It just seemed to come out of his hand funny. Anybody have footage?
