While we all realize this is Wade's defense, I thought he would have either internally promoted or externally brought in a DC to help him out by this time.

I guess a lot of externally capable DCs may not want to risk Wade only being the HC for 1 more year - which would put their job in jeopardy.

It seems the easist promotion may be an internal one.

I would think that an official naming should be imminent.

Yes, I would guess Grantham would be the favorite.

Pendergast was playing around with multiple fronts the last couple of years, I believe. He's certainly not a expert, but it's something he can do a little bit of.

However I wonder if he has since moved to the office that Reeves had for a couple of days and now another coach has moved to the office that Grantham had for a couple of days that was used by Stewart for a couple of years. Wow..that wore me out.:

Personally, I'm hoping it remains Phillips. And to think, we could have had Dom Capers last year, and what kept him away ultimately was a sensitivity that he would be stepping on Stewart's toes.

jerry jones isnt going through turmoil he did last year on defense, and remember jerry jones said that he hired wade because of his expertise as a good defensive coach

Plenty of guys, though it's usually on offense.

If you mean when there's literally no coordinator on the team, that's probably never happened. But then we'll name someone to do the job Stewart did, too.

Gotcha. Yeah. That's what I thought. Someone has to actually be named although we know Wade will be the true coordinator. Now if we could just convince Wade to coordinate full time and give up the HC position to Shanahan we'd really be doing something.

I've said it before -- it doesn't matter. Wade is in charge unless someone he really likes shakes free. Otherwise the title is there to offer Grantham or Herring if they get an offer elsewhere. Naming one of those two will have no impact on what we plan to do as a staff.
