But Jerra just said that in a general way because Jones was expecting Wade's choice of DC, which turned out to be Stewie.
Don't take Jerra so literally.

It's not, man, like, Jerra knows how to be a GM or nuthin.

Can one of you statisticians give me an idea how many coaches have successfully pulled off being HC and a coordinator at the same time in the past? Can you toss out some names?

Alot of HC's have called plays, usually offensively. Holmgren did. Shanahan did. Norv Turner does. Landry called plays as I recall. Parcells has called offensive plays before. Joe Gibbs called plays too I believe, at least part of his career.

Defensively the only HC I can think of that called plays was Wade last yr, although I think Pete Carroll called defenses for a long time at USC.
