yep, too bad we didnt have the QB to fight toe to toe with them yesterday like we did against Denver
funny enough a few days ago people were blaming romo for losing that game because of his int, but yet the same are absolving dak from yesterday lolol

Everyone has their part in the loss.

But after the 1st TD, the defense forced SF to punt, punt, fumble and during this time Dallas only ran 7 plays 2 touchdowns came from 1 play 26 yard drives after they forced a turnover. Maybe if the offense wasn't so inept to give SF 4 turnovers 2 almost in the cowboys redzone and put some scoring drives together maybe just maybe they'd have a chance.
yeah they created at least something in beginning before being taken to the woodshed

what stinks is that quinns defense has always suffered against mobile QBs, purdy is a pretty traditional pocket passer and yet we just couldnt do anything.
Wonder why we strayed so far from last years game plan

I think he believes his front will get home. When we kept bringing Parsons and they just keep running at him or throwing over him for quick throws to wide open players. I was sick when it KEPT HAPPENING. Use Parsons as a LB. He can stop the run.

I can buy some of that...but we were just way too passive all night long. I would have blitzed the crap out of Purdy. I think the one time we did....they ran a screen...as if they knew it was coming.
yeah we played 10 yards off all night, it was ridiculous.

Yep, the defense can get caught up into the "it makes no difference" syndrome. Once they see how inept Dak is, then tend to stop caring and trying so much.

DallasEast already countered this argument extremely effectively in a previous post detailing all offensive possessions, the results and the time taken.

I'll agree with him again in saying we still maybe lose but the offense's total ineptitude erased any opportunity the defense may have had to be a more rested group by them being gassed after being on the field for so long.

By the time the defensive line sat on the bench they were forced to get back onto the field. They needed a breather and they desperately needed the energy created when your counterpart does their job and puts points on the board. That energizes a team, but this offense is very deflating.

Defense definitely deserves the blame but you let them march down the field and our response is giving them the ball back 24 seconds later going 3 and out just sets a horrible tone. Complementary football but in a horrible way
True, but then we March right down the field to pull within 7, and the defense, rested, comes out and craps the bed and it’s 21-7. No resistance.

Sure they do….and here I thought they were professionals.

Quinn sucked ballz last night. How about the play where the Niners had a receiver wide open with no defender nearby in the flats? They ran that like 10 times, and we did nothing to stop it. That was just crazy how many times that play worked for the Niners.

Micah was being doubled every play… when we did blitz a couple times we got home.

I know purdy was getting the ball out quick…. But if they’re gonna double your best guy you have to send 5 at some point.

I don't know how anyone could have watched that game last night and not thought the defense was an issue. The inability to cover the 49ers receivers was as obvious as dirt. I don't want to hear about what the offense didn't do. Yes, they stunk too, but that has nothing to do with SF scoring TDs on 3 drive in the first half and almost getting a 4th if not for a fumble/takeway on the Cowboys 1 yard line. The defense shot themselves in the foot as much as the offense. The 49ers picked up big play after big play and Dallas could not stop them. The best pass defense was Hankins knocking down two passes on Purdy.

Quinn had no answers last night and he let Parsons take a beating instead of moving him off the ball where he could use his speed to make plays rather than allowing SF to negate his speed by running right at him.

In Quinn's defense losing Diggs has hurt this defense much more than we think. Gilmore simply cannot keep up with the quicker WRs in the league and he gets burned time and again. The Cowboys pass defense is their pass rush and if they don't get that QBs can carve them up.

Sure the offense was awful with way to many 3 and outs. But that is simply not an excuse for the porous defense in the first half.

Honestly, teams that test Gilmore win. They are testing Kearse and they are winning there too. The defense has been undisciplined at times and in two games it has hurt them badly. Say what you want about Dak and the offense, they deserve it, but the defense was exposed again last night.

So if the offense scores touchdowns on their first 3 possessions then the whole dynamic of the entire game is not changed?
You are failing to corellate the ineptitude of the offense's impact on defensive performance imo.
Complimentary football 101.
You are one of my favorite posters Creep but I totally disagree that the offense's performance did not drastically effect the defense. The offense and defense are not these stand alone entities as you described imo.

Just my opinion.

sure the offense was a problem, the defense which is suppose to be the strength of this team WAS a problem also..SF toyed with them all night.

...from the very first two plays. Purdy dropped back, quickly dumped the ball off.

If I'm Quinn, I could see thats how they were going to roll. But he continued rushing four. We needed to blitz from somewhere.

Be aggressive and get more men on LOS.

It was an embarrassing lost.
