I'm blaming Dan Quinn today

The more I watch the NFL the more scripted it feels anymore. There was a Travis Kelce TD yesterday that just made me laugh. Like, I'm not a football genius by any matter, but the Chiefs where at the 3 yard line and I thought..I'd jam the **** out of Kelce at the line and maybe even double team him because it will definitely be Mahomes first option in the RZ. Nope..Mahomes hikes the ball and 3 defenders run 5 yards away from him. He turns around and has the easiest TD I've ever seen in football. It really made me wonder...this is obviously after he was injured for 2 quarters and came back to save the day.

Not to mention the ludicrous flag pickup late in that game to nullify what was an obvious hold on the Chiefs. That might have made the difference in that game.

yeah we played 10 yards off all night, it was ridiculous.
Honestly thought we had secretly resigned Anthony Brown during the week...

Here is the thing I don't get...if your going to play off like that....jump a route...take the slant away. Instead we literally just sat in that zone
what stinks is that quinns defense has always suffered against mobile QBs, purdy is a pretty traditional pocket passer and yet we just couldnt do anything.
Wonder why we strayed so far from last years game plan
Well...we got gashed in the run game. Didn't want that to happen again. Yet...it still did. Some will say we did better...but come on. We still got gashed for 170. That's not good enough. Not even close. We lost that game on first down all night long.

He's actually our MVP on offense this year. Who would have thought that?

Yup, if nothing else, we've found another Dan Bailey. So, there's a positive I suppose. He was the best FA acquisition we had this year. Maybe we can see if any of the USFL RBs want a spot on this roster. We need another RB.

I get it....#4 is a problem....but I'm not sure what the hell Quinn was doing last night. It sure seems like the bigger the game...the more passive he gets. All the zone defense last night...huge head scratcher. The lack of blitzing...The lack of moving Parsons around...watching Parsons get swallowed up by Trent Williams...doubled/held constantly. But kept going right back to that match up. That was dumb.

Just when I would have brought more pressure....Quinn sat back...and let Purdy have all day to throw. Just insanity....

Still can't believe how many breakdowns we had in coverage last night. Guys not switching in man coverage...the few times we did go man.

I swear I was watching a Dave Campo defense with the way our CBs were playing off...giving these huge *** cushions.

Add that we got zero pressure on Purdy...who couldn't carve up a defense?

Honestly....Quinn deserves a ton of blame today. I just know if I'm gonna get beat...your QB is gonna have to do it under pressure...and not have all day to throw...

Comments?
Dak wasn't to blame. McCarthy was responsible for not scheming or calling up better plays to help our receivers get open. Mike Solari sucks as an Oline coach just like the previous ones we've had in recent years. Our Oline couldn't get a push or open up any running lanes. The 49ers front 7 dominated our Oline and shut down our RBs. Their average DBs blanketed our receivers from start to finish, but McCarthy did our Offense no favors with his horrible playcalling. No adjustments at halftime or during the game either.

As for Dan Quinn, I've been blasted for saying since last year that Quinn is overrated. It's not the Quinn from the Seahawks we are seeing. It's the Quinn from the Falcons we have. He has been outcoached and made some horrible calls that actually helps opposing teams gash our Defense. You nailed it in calling out Dan Quinn but Mike McCarthy needs to be called out as well. Both of our coordinators sucked last night.

Honestly, imo, the whole culture of the Cowboys sucks. It clearly doesn't matter who the coaches or players are. This is continuing to happen because of one man. There's been one constant in the last 28 years, and until that man sorts out his karma issues involving a different coach and gets himself humbled, then this will continue to happen until he dies.

SF had guys wide open all night. Ridiculous! I could have made some of those passes.

No holding calls all night. Kind of makes you wonder.
Yet many arms wrapped around Much as neck as he'd emerge from the line

well, SF got the ball and marched right down and scored. with only on incomplete pass on the drive and no negative plays.

then in second quarter, SF figured out the defense.

Purdy got sacked once. got hit once in 25 attempts. he had a clean pocket and just picked the defense apart.

Not the best performance from him but when looking at the season, Quinn's unit has performed better than the offensive unit.

The biggest issues facing this team right now are on offense. The OC stinks. The QB isn't all that good anymore. That's not to say the defense is perfect but they are far from the problem here.

And while they played poorly last night, I can't just simply blame Quinn and the defense today when the offense scored 10 points. Last night was a team wide failure.
Thats true but there were WRs running wide open last night. Thats on Quinn. This defense also got exposed yesterday

Get ready for Quinn to be the next head coach. Jerry won't look outside of the Star for "improvements" the way he doesn't look outside of the bargain bin for free agents. We'll never have anything resembling a complete team, so it really matters not.

Defense definitely deserves the blame but you let them march down the field and our response is giving them the ball back 24 seconds later going 3 and out just sets a horrible tone. Complementary football but in a horrible way
Our defense can do 3 and outs too, so there's no reason to blame the offense for them being out in the field so long. Our defense kept scoring drives alive with stupid penalties.

Im not usually into conspiracy theories or stuff like that. But now that you mentioned it, yeah, I saw that play and I was like “***”. Again I’m far from being a football expert but, it was a very easy TD, why he wasn’t personally covered, i mean he is the best TE in the league, why was the zone coverage THAT bad? They were faaaaar from him.
