I don't want to see us cut him. That would be irresponsible at this point. But he should be inactive or at least behind Tapper at this point.

We don't really need 10 DEs we just need about 4 to 5 really good ones. Lawrence and maybe Irving fit into that category. But it pisses me off we won't cut Kellen Moore and use his spot for positional players when we could stash Kellen Moore on the practice squad.

The primary problem is the OL. This team is built for ball control, the run game, scoring lots of points, and keeping the other team off the field.
Even a tiny bit more possession could mean less time for Rams to kick one of those FGs. We knew the defense would be a work in progress, but with the OL struggling, this team is back to where it was prior to last year.

They need to get going together as a unit and sort through the weak spots.....soon.

Tony Tolbert and Jim Jeffcoat were both basically serviceable DE's for several years when suddenly they actually started rushing the passer a bit. I don't think any of us thought we'd pick up a war daddy DE at the end of round 1.

Charles Harris and Takk McKinley have 7 tackles combined. Just for perspective

I'm not saying he can't eventually contribute. I am saying that he isn't doing squat right now and should be kept on the back burner for some time. He shouldn't play in front of other players like Tapper who are doing more than he is.

I am also suggesting that he was probably drafted too high if he isn't at least flashing potential.

Expecting Charlton to be a "force" is pushing it. Would I like to see him "more involved"? Yes.
However, it's not a position that is plug and be elite off the bat, factoring in where he was taken. Sure, there may be some exceptions, but generally speaking it's not the norm.

Probably. However, they thought he was the last best edge rusher. It is what it is.
Still waiting on C.A. to get healthy.
