mourning this crap. After that game, I felt as deflated as I did after we gave that game to the Giants last year in the playoffs. Didn't sleep much last night. Still can't believe how we refuse to step on teams throats after we have them down. But it's over. There is too little season left for me to dwell on this.
Falcons lost. Skins lost. Giants showing that they are not the hyped-up machine that BSPN wants us to believe they are. Despite poor QB and special teams play, we did show toughness and heart. We screwed up at the end. I'm NOT minimizing that, but if you've watched this team since the Tampa game they have shown lots of toughness and heart (the Giants game was a product of our ineptitude at QB - period). We can certainly win this week and if we do, we're 9-5 with two winnable games remaining. One at home and another against a team we've already beaten. We blew yesterday and it may cost us the season, but everyone knew we had to win 3 of 4 in Dec (after winning those 3 post-bye games). We shouldn't be in the position we're in, but we're most certainly alive and many teams can't say that at this time of year. Bring on Eli and his midgets! This team is not dead yet. Teams like the Skins can't really say that any longer. Despite losing, we're no longer on the outside looking in. Oh and for all the "rose-colored glasses" comments that are sure to follow - EVERY team has issues this time of year. We do still have one of the best teams in the league if we don't give games away.

BIGDen,

I'm with you man. I just sat there and couldn't believe what I had just witnessed. I was stunned and it was just such an empty feeling. Victory was snatched right from the jaws of defeat. To me, it comes down to one thing .... coaching. The staff (Wade, whomever) thought they had the game won and stopped doing what was working the entire game. I'm sorry but I blame the coaching staff 100% ..... the players left it all on the field under terrible weather conditions. They went it to Pittsburgh and beat them at there own game (smashmouth football) and then gave it all back in the 4th quarter. This just sucks!!!!!!!!!

wow 5 losses guys I can't believe this @@@@ who would of believed we would have 5 losses this year??????

I've been a cowboys fan for many many years, so I slept ok, I used to be like that no more, I have more important things in my life than football...but it's still disappointing, worst thing I hate about cowboys losing is I don't watch Sports shows all week, because all they remind me of is our poor playing...disappointed in ROMO, Proctor, Witten, but most of all..

garrett for his poor play calling and giving Romo some stupid HOT reads, and Wade Wilson for once again letting that soft middle just be wide open for the steelers, just stupid coaching...plus Special Teams sucks.

Same here-I end up watching the Lifetime Channel all week to avoid all the onslaught of 24/7 sports stuff. Heck-I end up avoiding MNF completely.

Dont' get me wrong, I think Wade wants to win as much as any other coach, he just doesn't know how to step on their throat. He looks like all of us on the sidelines ..... a big fan. He gets happy and pumps his arm in the air when something good happens ... and then looks confused and shocked when something bad happens. He's a glorified fan! As far as I am concerned, it is on him 100% for yesterday's loss. He had it won and then handed it right to Pittsburgh on a silver platter. Tomlin must be thinking ..." Wow, what a gift). We need a coach who will stomp on the opposition when he's got them down .... someone with some big balls, but I'm not sure we can get someone like that with Jer the egomaniac in charge. It's really a sad state of affairs, but there is too much talent on this team to be undarchieving the way they are.

What disappoints me the MOST is we could all be watching NFL shows and ESPN on how great our Defense was and see some very kool Highlights of Scandrick just mauling Ben, but instead all we will see is "Romo turns it over 4 times" just sickens me...sorry defense....maybe another day.

I think cowher would be good for the cowboys, he sure is more energetic
than Wade, and isn't afraid to put some fear into the team...thats we need..we need a coach the players can fear.

I predicted 11 - 5, I'm not sure why people were predicting we'd win 14 or 15 games before the season started, that's crazy.

I think the reason so many people are dissapointed is because we've seen this crap come December before, and the way the game was played yesterday got our hopes up that the team was geling at just the right time... and then to watch it all slip away, not because the Steelers all of a sudden started dominating us, but because we gave the game away is heart breaking.

The defense was absolutely spectacular for most of the game, I'm hoping they don't lose their heart because the offense choked but we play two more top 5 defenses and a top 7 defense and we absolutely need the offense to get their crap together.

I mentioned this on other threads-remember the '06 NE/SD playoff game where the Chargers D was rattling Brady throughout the entire 1st half-however, with 2 minutes to go, the Pats ran their hurry-up offense, and guess what? The Chargers D ran a prevent. Result? The Pats score a TD with ease to get them back into the game. Some say a Chargers DB fumbling away that INT late in the game that costed them, but if that prevent was run, the game would have been wrapped up by then.

Initially, I thought it was Marty Ball's call(as was a number of his other questionable decisions in that game)...but after seeing what Wade did in that playoff game against the Giants, and in yesterday's game as well...it's obvious now that it was HE who called that prevent.

By any chance, do you see the "Saw" movies that have been released every Halloween since '04?

Those movies are no different than watching the Cowboys in Dec.

Our defense looked pretty energetic yesterday.

Wades defense has been outstanding. I actually want wade to stay here now. i am not sure he can next year if they blow this season, but we wont do better as far as a defensive coach is concerned.

He called the right plays. If newman breaks up that 3rd and 16 play or someone brings ben down on that scramble in the 4th qtr we probably win.

The coaches can only prepare the players and call the plays. After that the players have to make the plays.

This team needs to just get this monkey off their back by playing well the next 3 weeks. then they need to play defense like yesterday in that first round.

Wade reached his pinnacle as a defensive coordinator, just like Norv Turner has hit his limit as an OC. THEY ARE NOT HEAD COACHING MATERIAL!!!!
