I've tried to temper my expectations, remain level headed and not be unrealistic, but my optimism has broken free.

I really believe that the offense is going to make a statement against the Giants. I feel like the full power of the O will be on display from punishing running with zeke and alf, zeke leaking out for effective screens, Cole and written moving the chains, and Dak keeping the D honest with playaction and showing off his wheels as necessary.

Dak is going to have a fantastic debut and it will be due to his poise and decision making. He's setup for success and will take advantage. Too many weapons, too good of a line, and a confidence that seems unflappable. For all the talk of what defenses he hasn't seen, the league really hasn't gotten a read on him and you throw zeke in the mix as well, and ny is just the unfortunate patient zero.

Cowboys win comfortably.

Book it.

Go for it.
Losing doesn't hurt any more if you were feeling negative going in or feeling optimistic.
But the lead up to the game is much more exciting and enjoyable if you feel optimistic.

I'm with you.
Enjoy the ride.

I expect a stat line around something like this.

25-30 passes, 6.0 average, about 160-180 yards, 1 TD 1 INT. I think he puts about 30 yards on the ground and rushes for a TD (I have a feeling we have something drew up in the red zone for this)

That alone won't be enough to win, just gotta hope Zeke and Morris take some off his shoulders and the defense creates a couple turnovers.

i am actually replacing sheetrock from the KOOL AID man crashing through my living room hahahahahaha :hammer::lmao:

Let's see if Garrett and Linehan make it easy on teams like they did last year.

On paper our offense should be really good but after last year I lost all confidence in this offensive coaching staff when they played 90s football with a team that wasn't the 90s Cowboys.

We will have to get imaginative, use the rules in our favor, more misdirection, screens, rub routes, all that good stuff. It's not 1993 anymore.

If Dez is doubled you find ways to still get him the ball.

The only way losing really hurts more is when you're drunk for the game! Lol

I wonder how much of last year's offensive gameplans were a result of them being completely unprepared for life without Romo? When Tony went down in week 2, they were left with immediately trying to win with Weeden-- which played out exactly like we knew it would. Then they were forced to experiment with Cassel.

I hope that 3+ weeks preparation for the coaching staff coupled with Dak's work ethic and focus will result in a much more consistent and effective passing game. Last year our running game was still decent. But we couldn't throw the ball down the field at all.

Having a 100% healthy Dez will be a big plus as well.

"Written" as you say is a beautiful art form and Witten is fun to watch on Sundays!

When you've got a bad QB and defense is a weakness, there's not a lot of scheming up you can really do. That same team with Tony won 3 of 4.

If Dak gives us similar QB play, we'll win a lot of games. The table is set for him to deliver. Now he just needs to do it.

Yeah, but in all fairness if Weeden had a healthy Dez and Zeke instead of Joseph freaking Randle, I think we would have won games with him as well. It's not as if we were getting totally shut down on offense or blown out. I think we were not so much unprepared to be without Romo but unprepared to be without Romo and Dez (and then Dunbar). On top of that they underestimated how crazy and unreliable Randle was.

I honestly think we would have won the majority of our games without Romo last year if we had Dez and Zeke and everything else remained the same. Not a big majority, and certainly not all, but I think we could have won over half.
