Blockbuster changes are about to happen....or they should happen anyway.
Agree, Collins in for Leary, Cassell in for Weeden, McFadden in for Randle, as I doubt Michael will be, yet. Give McFadden his shot first.
Dez needs to return, get him, TWill, Butler in game at same time.

Hardy, RoMac, Lee, Gregory, all ready to go in same game too.
Move Wilcox to SS, play Jones a s a true FS also. c. white stays as slot CB

McFadden has had chances.

That goes without saying. I don't think Cassel alone is the tonic. Collins needs to be in there. Church needs to be benched. We need to get Michael involved and McFadden less involved.

I wrote this season off in week 2. I thought it would be a bad luck year and sure enough it was.

By the time this team gets reasonably healthy the remaining games will be irrelevant.

But please. Don't make me sit through another game of Brandon Weeden. I don't think that's that much to ask.

I'm still excited too! I think yesterday was actually a big step forward for the defense, and it showed what a real opportunity we still have to do something special this season. Yes, we need to win a couple games, preferably the division games, but if we can do that, this defense combined with a Romo led offense making timely plays, we'll be hard to beat. It's not about playing the best Sep-Nov, we should be pretty healthy and peaking in Dec-Jan... I'm still hopeful we could go 7-0 once Romo gets back... We'll probably be favored in every game other than the Packers game.

You don't think Matt Cassel is capable of winning a couple of games with Dez likely back along with Randy solidifying the defensive line?

I mean hell even with Weeden we were right there in two of those ball games.

Agreed,:yourock: Matt Cassel should start and Weeden should be waived !!!

Get ready. I do not think Garrett and Company are ready to get off the train.

It is sad we cannot be excited about Hardy and the return of McClain and soon, Gregory, because we will be too busy being paranoid about our broken offense not doing enough to win a football game.

By the time the defense comes along, it is going to be too late if the offense does not do something drastic.

And that does not just mean trading out a backup talent at QB for another. There are other things that have to be addressed.

The past few years - "Damn, our offense is so good, if only our defense didn't suck!"

Oh how things have changed.

Forget the Patriots game, that team is on pace right now to have a similar season to 07. There were things on defense to be very, very excited about. Hardy and McClain are game changers, they will have two weeks to get back into game form (Even more than they already are), the coaching staff has 2 weeks to work this offensive line even more and get them into mid-season form (Hopefully the Leary and Collins battle starts back up), and there will be better evaluation of both Weeden and Cassle. Add in the fact that we may get Butler and Bryant back, and this offense will have SOME legitimate playmakers on the outside.

Our offense isn't going to be dynamic until Romo gets back, that's just the simple truth. The only way we will be winning games is by having our D step up, and I think we have the players back now to do just that. Add in Gregory and this d-line rotation is scary. We match up really, really well against the Giants. Flowers, while looking impressive as a rookie, is going to have a hard time with Hardy and Gregory. While Eli can beat the blitz, he's not Brady, and those blindside hits and near hits will result in costly turnovers.

My only fear is the running game, still. I'm done with the Randle experiment as a starter, he loses that little bit of burst/speed he has as the game goes on. He's a change of pace back. I don't know if Michael will come in and perform better, I do know he needs to be featured a bit more. He's the only back on this roster that is built to be a starter in this league with his power that is complimented by nice burst/speed. If we are going to continue running the ball on first down, you better be having your way with the run and not being dropped right at the line. Murray often got us 2-3 yards simply by power and falling forward, Randle is NOT that back. A change needs to be made.

It's nice to get a bit emotion out in game day threads, but this season is not over. As much as the last 3 losses hurt, the two important games are Giants and Eagles; both are winnable. Watch this defense wreck havoc in two weeks.

Good post.

The running game is not going to improve unless the blocking improves or they make scheme changes.

it's hard to get too excited with Hardy's future with Dallas still unknown. He's essentially a rent-a-player this year and if he keeps playing the way he did Sunday, he's going to want more money than Jerry is willing to give

You might see marginal improvement via blocking, but the running game is not going to take flight until Romo and Bryant are on the field together. It opens everything up...Romo will change the play at the line, take advantage of single coverage, run through his progressions, recognize the blitz, step up in the pocket, extend the play...all things Weeden has done miserably. The running backs, Butler, Beasley, Witten, Williams and Bryant are all going to see happier times when the "man that makes it all go" returns. Just hope there is a season left to save.

This is three games in a row that we are having to "forget about." When that streak stops the excitement will appear...

The good thing is the media keeps trashing him. Other teams might not want the bad publicity so it might be easier to sign him.

It is a sign of our imminent doom if you, one of the most positive posters, are predicting it's over. :(

Did you see the ESPN story in the pre-game this past week on Garrett? Church is one of the guys Ginger takes to his annual Princeton football camp in the offseason. Plus Church is a captain. He could whiff on a dozen tackles and still won't be benched.

He needs to make another lousy rap video before the end of the season.

Of course. He should, but won't.

Quit molesting Church, he has been out most dependable SS/Lb for tackles. He may not be a FS but he can tackle.
