I'm getting kinda excited about next year's team.

I know you can always make the argument that if a guy gets hurt, the team will struggle. But in the 43, the defensive ends are more important than the 34 for pressure, and we have 0 depth after those two guys.

You know, I was being snarky there, but I shouldn't have been, because you have a point. Though I think Wilber and Hatcher can both rotate at DE and, Hatcher, at least, is a decent option there. Depending on his weight, Crawford also has a body type to play DE and could be a decent fit for us there.

But you're right, the depth chart, as it stands without moving DLs over, is thin at DE.

We need proactively gameplan to ensure some of our aging starters are as healthy for the last 3 games of the season as they are to start the season.

That means coaching has to have a great rotation. If my some miracle of God Ware, Ratliff, Lee, Carter, Mo, and Carr are at least 90% healthy, that means noise in the playoffs.

If Romo, Witten, Murray and Dez are all at least 90% healthy, I can see us in the NFC Championship.

We need to get a lot better in the red zone, and to do that we need more OL help, IMO.

We were 8-8 last year with half the defense injured.

And we lost all of Mike Jenkins and Felix Jones.

Philly had a good draft assuming Lane Johnson is worth the fourth pick but I am okay with him trying to block Ware. Bennie Logan was a good pick but Barkley is not going to help them cover receivers downfield. They were last place in the division already primarily because they could not defend.

The Giants? :lmao: Justin Pugh at 19. I am trying to think what I like better, him trying to block our ends or trying to block Ratliff and Hatcher inside. Recall how bad it sucks watching Free and the interior linemen getting dropped in Romo's lap? Fun times for Eli are on the horizon. Moore and Hankins are as likely to give minimal effort as succeed.

The Commanders? I have their draft in one picture:

The corner they got in the second is most likely going to start out 4th on the depth chart.

I think we will be able to compete even better next year in the division.

I'm hopeful that this draft (and recent drafts) will make this team better, but there's no reason to get irrationally exuberant,,, these are rookies after all, every one of them could be all-pro or total-washouts. The team did do a good job addressing many of the numerous holes in the squad though :)

I agree with this but we have one more guy on the line we can run behind in short yardage situations. If there was one thing Frederick succeeded in with flying colors is point of attack run blocking. If you watch Wisconsin, when they needed two yards on the ground they ran behind Frederick.

Between Smith and to a lesser extent Livings we were able to get push on the left side last year. The issue is still the right side of the line. I wish Bernadeau played like a world's strongest man competitor. Our best hope is that they sign a quality RT to replace Free and/or one or two of Parnell, Bernie, Leary, Arkin, Killer, or Costa can come along and prove themselves viable long term starters.

That being said a road grader like Frederick helps a TON when you need to run the ball smashmouth.

Sensenbaugh was a starter, but I do see the point you are making.
