How does beating the Skins the first time give us that much more credibility over them in the first place? We were fully healthy and we played them when they were without their best offensive weapon and their best CB.
They get Portis back and not coincidentally blow out a much-ballyhooed JAX D that held us to 17 points, 14 1st downs, and 88 rushing yards. WAS beat the Jags which we couldn't do when they had Marcus Stroud limping around.

Funny how people were saying it was understandable that we lost to JAX as they were one of the better teams in the league, then when WAS beats them, JAX is described as actually overrated. WAS gets no credit at all. Such homerism and blatant hypocrisy is pathetic. I'll believe we're that much better than the Skins are if while healthy we play better than they do when they're healthy and especially if/when we empty the Skins of their souls on Nov. 5.

you're talking to the wrong guy, I'm not minimizing the Skins victory today, just saying I'm glad we beat them already so we don't have to hear the common opponent factor, the rest of the season will take care of itself, but right now, we own the Skins, and our loss against a team they beat means squat right now

a defense giving up 30 points at home is playing "not that bad"?wow interesting.:lmao2:
we gave up 3 big plays, outside of that, i dont think we played well. Not to mention 2 great catches by reggie williams on the one drive to get the TD

i mean, we will see. to be honest, I dont think our defense played that bad today. Even though we gave up 30 points, i thought it was a good showing. We caused some 3 and outs, and actually got pressure on the QB(which seemed to rattle leftwhich a little bit)

i know out pass D still isnt that good, but I think its improving. Even rumph and wright had a few good plays today

You gave up 30 points and numerous big plays to an average offense. Even when Dallas gave up 24 to them, 14 were because of turnovers deep in our own end we didnt give up any huge plays. Jacksonville drove the field at will in the second half, and would have won had they won the toss. Washington couldnt stop Leftwich.

unfortunately, neither could we

but we stopped Brunell and Moss ;)

We didnt give up downfield chunks. Brunell killed us with 5-10 yard dinks and dunks.

still can't believe you gave up a 3rd round pick for him

eh, i cant either. We are going to be kicking ourselves come april. I was just wondering how we got him for short yardage situations to keep portis healthy, and then what do you know, you have portis running three straight times from the 1 yard line.

makes you scratch your head somtimes

so we don't have to hear them gloat about how they beat the Jags and we didn't

Yeah, no matter what I would have to slap a Skins fan at school. So yeah good thing we beat em.
