On vacation / a friends wedding.

So do you guys have any advice on where to go and what all I need to see when im there?

What am I in for? lol

I've been a couple times. Loved it. First time better than the 2nd time.

It really depends on what you want to do and how much you want to spend.

My friends and I weren't big gamblers, so we spent alot going to different shows, tourist spots, and clubs.

I love the shows...even the lame ones. They have some kinda guide that contains a list of shows and which casino it's playing.

Have a budget of what you're willing to lose if you plan to gamble. We gambled between shows.

Do NOT go see the Hoover Dam. Even tho it was the comedy tour, it was the most boring visit I've ever been to.

Take comfortable shoes as you will be walking alot...no matter what Casino you'll be staying at. The monorail is only convenient for a few casinos.

Everything is expensive. Alcoholic beverages are very convenient. Loved that.

I liked the Circus, Circus Casino, Aladdin Casino, Paris (I think?), and New York, New York. MGM's kinda overrated, but it's cool. Stayed there last time.

I don't think I've seen dollar margaritas. However, I have bought these huge margaritas from a lil shop off the strip that are great.

It's down by MGM Grand. Next door to the Coca-Cola shop and M&M store.

Me and my friend actually watched some lil kiddie show that plays in the M&M store on the 3rd floor. Yeah, we're lame like that.

BTW, Mandalay Bay is really, really big. Never got a chance to go in the Wynn Hotel, but I heard it was nice.

it's only Tuesday and we're already talking about margaritas??? *must..stay..strong... must...not..drink...til..Friday...AHHH!!*

Dood...it's friggin Cinco de Drinko! What better day to talk about Margaritas?

...and if you want to get drunk in Vegas there's no need to spend a lot. Just pretend your gambling at moderately high level....key word "pretend"....and the drinks will keep coming on the cheap. Just keep moving around so they don't catch on. ;)

Yeah, I went to Shreveport a couple of years ago with a couple of friends.. I didn't spend a single cent - I just watched as my friends played black jack and I got like 5 free double Jack & cokes from the scantily clad girl walking around, and a $70 coupon that I used for steak

The "dollar Margaritas" as well as the "fry'd twinkies" and other such delicacies can be had in "downtown" Vegas. "Downtown" is about a ten minute cab ride from the Strip, and there's a pretty big difference between the two places.

"Downtown" Vegas is where all the package tours and cheaper deals are at. Anytime you hear about a "3 nights and airfare, plus $100.00 in chips" deal for $1,199.00 per person, THAT's a "downtown" thing.

The Strip is much more high end, and a lot more to do. The "Strip" is what you see in all the ad's, and movies and TV stuff. "Downtown" is pretty cool for an afternoon or so, but I pretty much stay on the strip when I go to Vegas.

One suggestion: Make reservations to eat at Gallagher's Steak House @ New York, New York. You won't be sorry. If you're bringing the wife, get reservations for dinner at the Paris Hotel tower restaurant too............

should we win the lottery before following your advice?

I hate Vegas.

My only advice would be to think, "What would Pacman do?" and then do the opposite.

This is what you'll need to do it right:

two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, and a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers and also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of Budweiser, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.

You just described breakfast.

Get ready for a good time.

About 3-4 days is about all I can do, just don't "play" to hard on day 1. The sports book in the Bellagio (spelling) is great. They take care of you drink wise, and is a nice place to wind down, sit back and watch some games while trying to make a little money.

As far as Downtown - the old strip - it's worth a taxi ride there to check it out. It's the only place in Vegas where you actually get to carry the old bucket of coins anymore. (my wife can't stand not hearing the change come out when you win). Also, go at night so you can check out Fairmont St. experience.

As far as the New strip - my favs are Bellagio, Paris, Venician, and NY NY.

The wife always has to go the shows, and some are actually pretty cool. Check out Stomp if you have to go to one. It's been around awhile, but I'd go see it again if I was there.
