(Landry on Moss in the end zone, hit him too early, CB on Welker on the Reed INT, hooked his left arm.) I felt the Pats got away with some late hits on Boller, and that they should've been called for trying to decapitate him on that early play where he evaded the pressure, rolled out and hit a 50 yarder after Thomas tried to take his helmet off, but other than that, I don't see what the complaint can be.
Disparity in penalties is not of itself proof that the Pats were getting away with things. They may have just been playing cleaner than the Ravens.
You really think NE could play SUCH A CLEAN GAME that THEIR ONLY FLAGS occured in the 4th! quarter. I just checked.
Penality
Quarter 1
Baltimore
1 facemask (15 yds)
1 12 D-men on field (5yds, pats tried to do it again later but a TO was called)
1 defensive offside
1 false start (5 yds)
1 unnecessary roughness (15 yds)
Quarter 2
Baltimore
1 defensive holding (5 yds)
1 defensive pass interference (3 yds)
Quarter 4
NE
1 Ineligible downfield (5 yd)
1 offensive pass interterference (10 yds)
1 offensive holding (10 yds)
1 ineligible downfield (declined)
1 false start (5 yds)
Balt
1 false start (5 yds)
1 illegal contact (5 yds)
1 defensive holding (5 yds)
2 unsportsmanlike conduct (30 yds)
1 defensive offside (5 yds)
i never said any penalties against the ravens weren't justified. but I doubt that the pats could have played 3 quarters perfectly flag-free. so brady was right, it wasn't until the 4th quarter that the ref's starting calling it on both sides. too bad, he got the first 3 quarters wrong about who was getting favored.
