I'm not crazy about Paul P as my DC

For the luv of gawd...the Giants are one of the better offenses in the league, do you not remember how they shreaded this team last time out? Sure they were missing there slot guy, but the Boys were missing three lineman and two corners.

Btw, coach P did have the ninth best defense in the league a few years ago...he wasn't a total bust.

I would have liked to seen more blitzes by Pasqualoni, but stopping Jacobs on that 4th down play was very satisfying.

Keep it up DEFENSE!

GO COWBOYS!

:)
You can't fall in love with blitzing, you have Eli back there and we don't have Deion and everson walls back there. It depend son who your playing, now next week with shaun hill i would dial up some more then this week.

.....dont like the looks of him......

that could complicate the coach selection process , as well as the player drafting.

Do we put that ahead of the wunderlick score?

That's not really true. Bowen had his man beat, but he doesn't get to Manning before he throws that ball even if he's not held. We caught a break on that one

I'm ecstatic we won, and that we made some big plays on defense, but they still gave up a ton of yards. Bottom line, PP is not who not you want to go forward with as your DC.

It was a blatant hold and a penalty. You can't say what could have happened if he wasn't held. Bowen could have jumped up and cause a tip ball if his leg weren't being held down. Who know? Nobody does. Bottom line is that the hold did have a impact on them getting the TD.

Yup and they caught a HUGE break on that bogus PI call on McCann.

Let the Giants talk about how many yards they gained and we'll talk about our win.

Points is all that matters.

the defense played a bend and not break defense. just send four guys to pressure and keep everything in front of you. the problem is with that style of defense you give up to many yards and long drives. the giants had the ball almost twice as much as the cowboys did. atleast eli gave us two bonehead picks today. it was nice for a change that another qb gave us turnovers. third down defense was terrible. next week we play a lions team that struggles to convert third down maybe we will give up less yards and points.

If you have the lousy secondary and the average pass rush we have, I don't think it's that bad of an idea to play that style of defense. Don't break and eventually the other team will make the mistakes.

I thought he did very well today.

He was playing with an undrafted rookie, Scandrick, and Ball at CB during the game. He was missing two Pro Bowl caliber CBs at the same time or missing one of them during the game.

Bryan McCann made a monster play on Nicks and Manning...

The defense played more zone and protected the secondary....

It worked.

More zone and less blitzing...It worked.

I'm not crazy about TS. Have a feeling looking at his other posts might explain why.

If JG is going to be coach; fine but I want staff changes.

Also Sdogo said , he's known Paul before, and is not a likable dude also his defenses are known for getting passed on.

Kinda hard to complain about a guy when he's had 3 or 4 days to try and correct something that had completely melted down for basically half a season.

That said, I doubt he is the permanent DC here.

That's Wade Phillips type of thinking...."Who cares that we gave up alot of yards...." etc...next thing you know, you are giving up a ton of yards AND points and not scoring more than them.

I like the line of thinking that goes like this...."Beat them in every area of the game and you WILL beat them on the scoreboard." "Don't just settle for mediocre....DEMAND excellence in every play."

NY had the #2 offense in the entire NFL...we held them to 2 TDs and created turnovers while winning the game...played extremely thin on the line and in the secondary...if you don't call winning with that bunch of characters against that offense in their own stadium GREAT, then you'll never be happy with a Dallas defense.

The zone was a great decision....we still had very little to no pressure most of the game, which is a killer...anyone can hit plays against a zone with there's no pass rush. Once again, Ware did almost nothing, but he did hustle and make some tackles in the run game which I was happy to see.

That final inteception, Eli still wasn't hit and had no one pushing the pocket into his face, but that tiny bit of pressure from his right made him take one step to his left before delivering the pass which gave Ball a chance to make the play...you don't have to have sacks, but you have to at least make the QB move from time to time.

Great win.

Plus, they had a patchwork OL and we couldn't even get a sack...not the first time that has happened.

Nobody said it wasn't a great win....

I'm just one that doesn't "settle" for something that CAN be improved....I guess it's just a personal fault....think about it...you start settling for mediocrity and before you know it, we are mediocre. Oh yeah....that seems to have already happened to us.

I would just like to see us giving up fewer yards. I love it that we scored more than them....but I guess I'm too much of a perfectionist.....something I wish WP would have been. FOUR YEARS WASTED if he was accepting mediocrity.

Considering wht they had to work with and then the injuries to Jenkins and Newmn, they probably played about as well as they could today.

The run defense was better than its been in weeks, and at least they did cause some turnovers.

I'm not worried about who the DC is, if Garrett remains HC I'm sure we'll see all kinds of staff and personnell adjustments.

At least the effort was there, and thats something that clearly wasnt the past 3-4 weeks.

I hear ya on the "effort" part, and that is sad that we have been relegated to hopeing to see something that should be there all the time.

They had an o-line that was patchwork, and we couldn't get a sack....not the first time this has happened. Didn't we just get to Cutler like once or twice? And then not get to him after the first qtr.

I hope you are right though....I hope we see some staff and personnel adjustments.

Yeah, I don't like the look of German Chocolate cake...but I eat it...and it's good.
People told me it was good...and I tried it...... and it was.
I've grown up since then and I eat German Chocolate because I WANT it. :)

i mostly agree with you; i love the win and love the way the defense stepped up and made big plays when it mattered. but you can't always depend on getting a play like mccann's - a very likely 14-point swing in a game we won by 13. i want to see marked improvement in this defense before i'd want a potential 2011 head coach garrett keeping pasqualoni on as def. coordinator.

having both starting corners out at one point is pretty significant; that's obviously a consideration. we have seven more games to evaluate him. i think there's no need to rush to judgement on either garrett as HC or pasqualoni as DC.

Jimmy Johnson pointed out that the zone helped with cb`s being able to stop the run and it gave a better chance for turnovers . Makes you wonder why it hasn`t been used more with Wade. It was a pleasant surprise to see several guys around the ball. First time that I have noticed that this year. I hope this type of play becomes the norm.

We were lucky to get the win. We were outplayed for the most part. The turnovers made the difference. That's not going to happen every game. We have a poor pass rush and our secondary is suffering for it. Our rush defense made a big difference in this game. That was the major difference in this game and the last few.

You're the 2nd poster to say the defense played great, and I'm as happy as ever that we got some turnovers but I wouldn't call it great. They played well enough to win, everyone on the team put forth effort and we won.

We held one of the best, high flying offenses in the league to 20 points. 3 in the first half. And forced 3 turnovers. How is that not great?
