Defend your boys. Should the nation have to watch a Dallas team that has underperformed?

Dallas took the game when no one else would do so and what we demanded in return is that it would be a traditional thing. Why should Dallas back out of that agreement? To give other teams an opportunity for the game the NFL now plays a game at night.

Back when the Thanksgiving game was offered, nobody wanted to be bothered.

Dallas and Detroit stepped up to the plate. Neither should give it up now.

The crybabies now have a Thursday Night game to 'rotate' on.

That's my take on it.

troll alert. Not even a very good one. actually kind of pathetic.

If your mom was not sooo alluring I would not put up with yew, trollperson.

But keep it up and I aint gonna no make no more payments on her double wide!

If the NFL wants to see ratings hit the floor, they'll take Dallas and Detroit out of the games.

I didn't write the article, and I actually think it was good. You Dallas fans just can't handle the fact your franchise is in shambles.

If it's about tradition, then certainly the Cowboys stay on Thanksgiving if the Lions do after 71 years.

But even if the league decides enough of a crappy Lions team on a premier game, then consider the ratings. The Cowboys, even in a down year, will draw more viewership than just about any other team that could play.

Dallas would take a big chunk of the ratings, Detroit would not. Who really wants to watch the Lions?

I agree, no one could match the Dallas ratings, or could they? Could the Patriots?

Defend our boys?

This is a Dallas Cowboys forum for Dallas Cowboys fans. Not a forum for Patriots fans.

Don't come on to our board and tell us to defend the Boys.

Maybe you need to defend why tradition can be changed for two teams that were the only ones willing to take the offer to play on thanksgiving.

Maybe you should try and defend the other teams and their owners for not having the vision to take these games every year.

Defend our boys.

A line from the end of a Pantera song comes to mind...

Walk on home boy.

NFL is about money. My question is, if that's true, could some other team bring bigger ratings during a year when the Cowboys are effectivley already out of it by Thanksgiving.

I actually look forward to watching Detroit this one time of year.

I've watched Detroit play on Thanksgiving for as long as I can remember.

Kind of an ignorant question. Dallas' games continue to be among the highest rated games on TV, so a lot of people disagree with your insinuation that watching America's team is a hardship. Besides, the characterization of the Cowboys as "underperforming" is a bit passe. The team whipped the Giants in NY a couple weeks ago and handled Detroit this past Sunday. I am guessing that seeing if the Cowboys are for real against the SB champs is going to be a tremendous draw.
