I'm not oppossed to taking a QB with our 1st round pick

Pretty much agree, though I would qualify that by saying it could change some based on:

1) Which young guys give strong indicators they can play, and be at least adequate alogn with showing upside for the future.

and

2) What we do via free agency.

I really thought Spencer was going to be pretty good, but he's been pretty average this year. Dont know how much of it is him or the scheme, but if we stick with the 3-4 and a dynamic OLB falls in your lap, maybe you consider that too.

Isn't it amazing that as bad as we've needed a safety, (since Woodson retired) we did NOTHING this past off-season to shore up that spot and watched the G Men sign Antrel Rolle and Deon Grant in order to fix a glaring problem they had?

Pretty much nobody thought Chris Johnson would be what he is. I did think he was a quality player when I saw him play during the bowl season, but I thought he'd be too small to carry a big load.

But your synopsis of Jones shows you never watched the guy play, nor had any clue about where the concensus draft status of him was at. In other words, basically talking out of your rear.

Contrary to popular opinion, it's very doubtful Romo has 7 or 8 good years left (see last night's game, for example). People were trying to float the idea that our OL wasn't old because they were "only" 31 and 32. Guess what: they're playing like a bunch of tired, old men at 31 and 32. If we get 3 or 4 more good years out of Romo, we'll be fortunate. Guys who are playing at a high level after age 35 are the exception, not the rule.

If they really wind up with a top 3 or 4 pick, they need to find QB, passrusher, or LT if at all possible (although the OT class looks depressingly weak). IMO, other positions generally just aren't worth that high of a pick.

No sense of doing anything in regards of a QB with the line we have and play calling. No QB in the league would have success with them. If they could get some decent protection, Romo will lead them. Of course, we won't find anything out until next year.

But the consensus was he wasn't an every down back. That's why they got some criticism for passing on Mendenhall, who has developed into a very nice every down player.

If Mark Ingram is available we would be crazy to pass on Emmitt 2.0.

I like Ingram too, but I wouldnt draft a RB with our 1st pick next yr.

Jones and Choice are both good RB's, and both could put up significant numbers. They gotta have blocking though, just like Ingram would need.

im a huge Romo believer and think he can give us 5 more years and dont think he is the problem but i cant argue these facts`

The first four picks should consist of:

2 offensive linemen
1 corner
1 safety

i agree also. the best available player at either one of these positions would be the best option. we need a replacement for newman in the future. a playmaking safety would do wonders for our secondary. a left tackle would start from day one for us. then we could put a first round free agent tender on free and move him back to right tackle where he belongs. i would keep kosier for one year.

We're going to be in an interesting position...Romo's contract will be up after the 2013 season. He'll be 34 going into the 2014 season. Tom Brady just got an extension at 33 and Peyton Manning is about to get one at 34. So would we extend Romo at 34 or let him go and play our youngster (if we draft one?)

The window for this team to win a SB is now (the next couple of years).
You don't go drafting a QB when you already have a pro bowl QB and pro bowlers at EVERY SINGLE SKILL POSITION.
What a waste.

Plug in the offensive line and get some bodies in the secondary and go for a SB because the talent is there everywhere else
Regardless of how bad they are playing this year the talent is there drafting a QB would just be stupid imo

Well we probably will be drafting top 10. This team needs to get tough in the trenches. We need linemen, period.

If our pick is a top 5 pick (and I may be), we need to bring in the best lineman available with the pick.

The problem is, the best OT is only 295 lbs and he may not be worthy of a top 10 pick. There may be 2 CBs and 2 QBs worthy of top 10 picks. If we pick BPA, we may be stuck taking one of them. I would love for an impact junior FS to declare, or OT, but that' s wishful thinking.
