truth is, I've said that I want both him and Henson to succeed, but so far, it looks like Romo has risen to the challenge, and not Henson, which isn't a huge and unbelievable shock to me, Romo just has more experience, which in turn makes him more comfortable, and may even have that "it" quality, some call it moxie, or so I've heard ;) but these 2 past games, wow, Romo looks pretty nice, nice, not great arm, quick release, and good movement, but his movement is tamed in comparison to last year when he was a wannabe-Favre clone, that's what had me worried about Romo a little bit, don't really much like Favre-type QBs, they force alot of throws, but seems Romo has reigned that in alot and is just going w/ the flow, and he's looking pretty good doing it

here's to those who said BP hates young QBs...shove it! :p: to those who said, and some still are, although they're very quiet now, that we aren't developing a young QB, you know what you can do too...

I dont know what I like the most about Romo...

either the 3 fumbles or the 2 TDs....

Look...we haven't seen Henson play yet[other than the NFLe stint of 7/8 games]

Im waiting until we see Henson play.

Yeah, Romo's performance has quieted things down on the Romo vs. Henson front and on the argument that BP wasn't developing a young QB. Maybe there is some value to having patience after all.

I'm glad to see Romo go out and do the job. I feel a lot better about the backup QB spot in case Bledsoe goes down. I could not say that last year.

I agree that he's looked good, but he needs to work on taking care of the ball. Maybe Bill will have him carry the ball around with him everywhere he goes until the season starts.

Otherwise, he's shown great improvement.

but maybe people said it because bp himself said "i don't have time to develop a qb".

bp loves head games but he hates all the "drama" around the games he plays. he can't have it both ways.

at this rate, see you next year. if he's not played in pre-season yet, he won't in the last 2 games either.

Chances are the starters will not see much action in the last pre-season game so I would not doubt that Henson will get some time in that game. I expect next weeks game to be the dress rehearsal for the starters but after that I doubt BP will risk players in the last pre-season game

I still think unless we get something tangible we keep Henson, the one thing I learned from romo is that patience with QBs pays off sometimes..

but what if they're our "best chance to win"??? : )

it's possible, but if bp said he wants ~10+ quarters out of romo, he's at 6 now. split the next (2) games w/beldsoe and he's at 10. is drew "ready" w/6 quarters then?

i just don't see this as a slam on bledsoe but if they wanna see what romo can do they gotta give him the reps in *games* -you know, like i've been saying since we had 3 games to kill at the end of the season 2 seasons ago.

don't starters usually stay in for the first quarter? i'm not sure, but i've seen it from a few teams, but not from others.

I think that Bledsoe will be fine with 5-6 though. If Henson really, REALLY needs time, he can have a quarter, but he's quickly becoming an afterthought.

I know what BP said however I don't expect Bledsoe to play much in the last pre-season game. I think Romo will see plenty of action in the next 2 so that he can continue preparing for the season because once the season starts as a backup he will not get a lot of reps during the week. Henson I think will get some snaps this pre-season but I expect it will be in the last game.

Bledsoe looked ready to start the season just fine last night. Only reason I would play him more than 2 quarters over the next 2 games is to get some reps with TO.

That said, I think Romo will get the bulk of the time remaining, as they still need to work out contract stuff, and the more they see the better. But I wouldn't be surprised if we see a bit of Henson in the last game against Minny.

well, i meant "slam on henson" but i'm still waking up. it's birthday week so i'm running kinda slow this am. : )

henson won't play much but i think it's because we know what he can do but romo has had far "less" gametime and they think he's next. so, give him every chance to see. henson probably won't do much till next year at this rate.

That's what I'm thinking. Maybe Romo will get reps against the first team next week? I think this is how it'll break down:

Game 3:
QTR 1: Drew Bledsoe (3 QTS)
QTR 2-4: Romo (9 QTS) I'm thinking we'll give him the second qtr also so he can have some more reps against the first team D.

Game 4:
QTR 1: Drew Bledsoe (4 QTS)
QTR 2: Tony Romo (10 QTS)
QTR 3-4: Drew Henson (2 QTS)

Bledsoe is going to play into the 2nd half this week. Assuming TO is playing your 1st team offense needs the reps and a quarter isn't enough. Henson could get the 4th quarter of the 4th game but I'm not sure he plays at all.

Romo is winning me over but I'd rather wait and see him play a real game then see what he has.

You may be right, I'm just saying if Henson sees some action this pre-season I expect it will be in the last game. I think this upcoming game we will see the starters go for 3 qrts

I have been and still am on the Romo bandwagon...I thought from the beginning that we might have something special with this guy. And I am of the opinion that he could very well be our starter this year at some point other than opening day. Bledsoe will start the season (barring injury of course) but if he starts to fold later in the season Romo could get his shot. And when he does get his shot I think he will come through big time. This has been my stance all along this preseason.

I do like Bledsoe; he has one of the great arms of all time and can make every throw. But he is not mobile and he does take a beating and he does wear down toward the end of the season. This OL is not the greatest and he could start taking a beating again this year. If he gets injured or if the wear and tear starts to show then it could be Romo's ticket into the starting lineup.

As for Henson; I still think he has something but he is not finding it for some reason. Maybe Parcells has ruined him with the pressure that he puts on these guys. But then again if he can't handle Parcells he is not going to handle big game pressure either. Still I have hope for him somewhere down the road.
