I'm only trading up for 2 players, Bailey at 6 or Downs at 9!

In my opinion, Bailey is heads and shoulders the best edge rusher in the class. He checks every box you look for the position and is athletic to drop in coverage if need be. He would complete our pass rush for the position.

Downs plays at the non premium position, but is the ultimate weapon. Perfect fit for that nickel role and most likely would even have the green dot calling the defense, he has next level football intelligence.

Reese, Styles, Delane, Bain aren't worth giving up our precious draft capital for as they all have some questions in their skillsets.

If I cannot get Bailey or Downs, I am hoping for a trade back scenario to take place. Take advantage of the depth in this draft and load up on improving the overall talent on defense.
I am torn between trading up for Bailey, Downs or Reese myself and I would be just as happy with trading down and drafting 4 or 5 players in the top 100. The trade down seems better for this team's needs.

I’d say there’s a chance of Downs being available at #9 but I see no chance that Bailey is still there at #6.
I tend to agree with that, but, like NY said, anything can happen. However, I don’t think there is much chance at all that Bailey gets out of the top 4 picks.

This is the dream scenario right here
I think Reese is very equal to Parsons when it comes to athletic ability, Reese would dominate at outside linebacker and inside linebacker. This is the player to add to this defense that would help this team turn the corner fast.

Only downside is that they have to hit on the players

You can trade down and acquire as many top 100 picks. How many do you think are going to hit on? People around here think trading down means hitting on every single pick - and I’m not directing this at you at all. You can have 6 top 100 picks - you might find 2 or 3 average starters. People in here think all 6 picks will hit , it’s not how it works and I know you know that.
+1

That is pretty much Parsons and he got that huge contract, elite pass rushers are in high demand even if they are one trick ponies
Parsons wasn't anywhere near the level of ineffective as Bailey.
Bailey doesn't even make an attempt!
Parsons was also head and shoulders ahead of Bailey as a pass rusher.

No doubt Bailey needs more development and more effort in the run game, but he is by far the best pure edge pass rusher in this weak class. He is a potential 10 sack player which is always in high demand

Except he was a just an above average pass rusher his first 3 seasons until he transferred and got to pin his ears back playing with a lead!
Eze has just as much potential to put up 10 sacks and he has already shown that he was willing to take to coaching to improve as a run defender!

Think at the same stage Bailey is the better prospect, but the gap isn’t that wide, either.

Outside of Love. Downs we can pick apart these top prospects as they all have some warts as it just isn’t a good draft with elite, blue chip talent. Agree, Bailey in a normal class probably more a teens pick, not top 5

If Reece makes it to 3, go get the best player in the draft. He immediately helps with pass rush and LB.

Otherwise, pick your best available at 12.

And therein lies my other problem.
To move up high enough to get him is going to cost both first and at least a 3rd. Unless they're ready to go the season with James as the MiKE they're going to be resistant to giving up that 3rd as I'm guessing they're planning on pairing it with one of the 5th to move up in the round.
Thats going to push the compensation into next season's 2nd.
Do you honestly believe a guy you admit would normally fall into the teens worth 2 1st and future 2nd?

As I mentioned, only interested trading up to 6 for him if it meant we would give up 20 and get back 39

This is the really real world.
You would have to get ahead of Tennessee.
Most likely after a bidding war with KC!

Just saying if he slid to that spot, that's when I would try to move up and the package I want in return.
