One thing I might add, BP left at the perfect time. If we go and get a coach that can bring us to the top, don't you think BP will be given credit by the media as the one who built this team ?

If we don't make it, he can say he put the pieces in place and (incert name here) screwd it up.

BP was like a 7th year president of the USA, the last year is more about your legacy than what you really want to get done.

I was thinking the same thing. Parcells retiring hijacked every major sporting news outlet yesterday and it still dominates the news today. New head coaching hires went under the radar. The two teams in the super bowl were barely discussed. And then to top it off, I got a chance to see the full game broadcast of Super Bowl 13 on NFLN. It was great.

Did anyone see the clips of the two super bowl HCs being asked what they thought of Parcells retiring? Granted, that's more Parcells, but Cowboys nonetheless. Nothing else was talked about this morning, or only in passing.

By no means am I comparing Romo to Aikman, or Julius to Emmitt, or T.O. to Irvin if that's what you mean.

I meant that the team has serious potential to make a run for a championship, and if that does happen, it will be mostly due to the players that came onto the team during Parcells' tenure as head coach. The new coach has all the pieces, just like Switzer did, to make a run towards the Super Bowl (or at least to win a few playoff games).

Also, I did express my opinion. I doubt I'm going to turn into one of those "only write for controversy" writers. I'm hardly ever one way or the other. Even when T.O. was signed, I tried to see the other side of the issue, even though I've never been a big fan of him. I think issues like this has a lot of gray areas, and the writers who go completely one way or the other sometimes do it only for shock value. Attention ****** would be a good way to describe them. But if I don't truly feel that way, I'm not going to write in that manner.
