"Bledsoe wanted to stay on the field: Parcells said he considered inserting backup quarterback Tony Romo in the third quarter, but said Drew Bledsoe lobbied to stay in the game.

"He didn't seem too inclined to do that," Parcells said of Bledsoe's response.

Bledsoe threw three interceptions, fumbled once and was sacked seven times in Sunday's game. After the game, Romo sounded disappointed he didn't get the opportunity to play.

Instead, the Commanders' defense continued to tee off on Bledsoe. "

Another proof that Parcells has his boys.

1. Drew picks and chooses if he plays
2. Romo has the freedom to express his disappointment at not playing

How long do you think Henson would have gotten away with that last year?

I know I'm in the minority on this, and I really don't care, I want Parcells stubborn rear end out of town. I wish I could say I feel differently, but I would just be dishonest. I'm ready for Parcells to be gone.

Most on this board say, "who else would you rather have?"

I would rather have Charlie Weiss
I would rather have Jimmy Johnson (I know, wishful thinking)
I would rather have ANYONE will a little willingness to move beyond old favorites. (Vinny, Bledsoe, Keyshawn, and anyone else he can import from his past teams)

Go get a good young coach with some creativity (maybe a Gary Kubiak type), and lets move onto the next chapter in Cowboys history.

I'm tired of play not to lose football
I'm tired of excuses for why he can't play young players in opportune times.

Heck, I'm not a Romo fan by ANY stretch, but I would have welcomed even seeing HIM last Sunday when it was out of hand.

So, Parcells lovers, enjoy, looks like he is here for a long time. But I, for one, wish it were different.

If the boys lose this week in Carolina, I'm not opposed to seeing Romo in the final game against St. Louis. But right now, Bledsoe gives this team the best chance to win, and that's the most important thing.

So Bledsoe is the HC now? If it's really true that BP kept Bledsoe in there because Bledsoe asked, I just lost all respect for BP.

Who the f is running this team?

That's rediculous and I'm with you now.

He has treated Henson like a piece of trash from day one. And for that matter, Romo as well. I don't want to wish bad things on someone, but I hope this Sunday, Bledsoe has to come out of the game for 3 quarters due to cramps -(nothing to bad) and we get to see Romo come in and throw 2 TD's.

I still feel the same way as I did when the Bryant situation went down....yes, Bryant is a nut...but the jersey tossing thing really caught my attention...

Parcells may have talked a great game about how performance determines playing time...but when that happened, I figured where there's smoke...Parcells goes well beyond favoring "his" guys.

I've always said, I'd hate to be a young player on a Parcells coached team.

One of his comments today was calling out the younger guys for losing their poise vs Washington....

Really?

Whatever....I'm not jumping off the bandwagon after this last game...

I was off the Parcells band wagon at the beginning of last season.

Bryant may not even get a new contract in Cleveland, FWIW.

BTW-Ditka also had this same problem in the Big Easy-his love for older players, as did Bum Phillips.

Like I said, Bryant was kinda nutty...but I think there was a justification for his being upset...not for the way he handled it.

Most coaches have a thing for the ex players...but with Parcells, and it has been cited statistically, he's over the top.

His buddy Francesca had an interesting take on Bledsoe being in at the end of the game...throwing passes....etc...His thoughts were that Parcells is super competitive with Gibbs...That Gibbs was still blitzing (well if we're still throwing, they should be blitzing)...AND that he thought it was possible that Parcells was "punishing" his players.

Whatever the reason, it was beyond lame to be calling a time out, down by 28, with only seconds left...and then throwing the ball.

GO figure.

He who laughs last.... laughs the loudest? Where would we be with this O-line and Quincy Carter as the starter.

Let's not forget the O-line we had in front of QC was a little worse and he had Troy...ummm.... Hambrick running behind him.

I know its all speculation, but how bad do we look now losing to the Skins 35-7. Let's face it our D is sick and tired of having to hold teams to field goals from inside their own 30 yard line.

BP fired QC to make a statement. He should have dropped him to #3 QB and made him work his way back to #1. But instead we threw away not one season but two.

Congratulations Dallas we have a young Defense with a few young guys on offense and a bunch of old guys too. And by the way our QB of the future hasn't even been drafted.

I can't agree with you here AT ALL. Quincy Carter? Are you for real? Quincy Carter can't get a SNIFF of the NFL right now. When interviewed he rambles. When he was on our team he had an inflated view of himself that bordered on insanity. HE was the one talking about "all the great ones" and putting HIMSELF into that class, even comparing himself to Don Meredith.

Quincy Carter was one of the worst chapters in Dallas Cowboys history.

Maybe Parcells was thinking of putting Romo in. But then maybe after seeing the way our OL was doing everything it could to make sure Bledsoe got abused and our running would not work that Parcells let Bledsoe stay in.

Maybe it was not Bledsoe who talked Parcells into it. Maybe it was Parcells did not want to bring Romo into his 1st NFL game to something like that where the man had no protection at all. Maybe he was letting Bledsoe have his way so Romo didnt get totally ruined out there.

Im pretty sure if we were losing to a crappy team with no pass rush..you know a pass rush almost as bad as ours...that Parcells woulda let Romo play.

Parcells woulda been crazy to send Romo in there with the ZERO protection our OL was giving.

Do some of you even THINK??????

Vinny and Drew(someone get these cement blocks off my feet) were the answer?!

I'm not stupid I know QC is out of the league. But he did pretty good with what he had to work with. On top of that he did exactly what Parcells asked of him. He gained 10 pounds of muscle in his legs.

This team is no different than last year . Start out strong and fade at the end of the season to miss out on the playoffs. I don't want to make this a QC thread, I'm just wondering why BP was willing to throw away two seasons for his own hard nosed way of coaching.

I have not heard BP blame Drew for one loss this year. He always points the blame to the O-line. Anyone who has played football knows that the O-line on any team could be blamed for every loss. ie...."we couldn't run becuase of the o-line or we couldn't pass because of the o-line." Yet when QC was in there the finger was always pointed at him.

And OH by the Way...The pass that Drew threw to Keyshawn and was picked near the end zone. That was a statement by a wide receiver as to say" screw you I'm not gonna save you this time."

I never get tired of reading this argument from bitter fans. Outside of Ryan Young (who got cut at the end of his disappointing season...so much for that "favoritism" stuff, eh?), which imported Parcells player has been a disappointment? Before thinking about Vinny, keep in mind that he was brought in to be a backup.

(Cue Jeapordy music)... I'm waiting.
Quincy Carter can't get a SNIFF of the NFL right now.
Obviously for reasons NOT related to on-field performance.
When interviewed he rambles. When he was on our team he had an inflated view of himself that bordered on insanity. HE was the one talking about "all the great ones" and putting HIMSELF into that class, even comparing himself to Don Meredith.
Get back to us when you decide to bring up relevant issues. I guess his "inflated view of himself" could be compared to Bledsoe continually bringing up Tom Brady and himself in the same light, no? That's the whole confidence vs cockiness thing.

QC got us to the playoffs despite struggling behind a crappy OL. And despite a brand new system EVERY year. And despite Troy Hambrick as his RB. You sure he's the worst chapter in Cowboys history? I think he was a big part of the best small chapter in a horrible era in Cowboys history. And if it wasn't for the drugs, he'd still be our starter.

Depending on who you think is doing the finger-pointing, you're either RIGHT on point or WAAY off. The fans pointed the finger at QC MUCH more than they're pointing them at Bledsoe nowadays. Both struggled behind horrible OLs. Both showed that they can play pretty well when given time to throw and a viable running game. And I must say, I've found it pretty interesting when comparing the fans' reactions for QC's struggles vs Bledsoe's.

But if you were referring to Parcells doing the finger-pointing, you're way off. He constantly looked the OL's way when distributing blame during 2003. He was a broken record every week, talking about how QC was given no chance for success.

Most fans skewered QC anyways. Much of the same ones who absolve Bledsoe nowadays.

And for the record, I was one of the ones absolving QC in 2003, and I'm strongly absolving Bledsoe now.

Now he thinks he can win with Bledsoe, and I question that theory.
I do like Bledsoe, but he gets rattled quickly.

His short passes are bad, his screen passes suck. His foot work is horrible.

Gotta learn to deal with pressure sometimes - like I said about Aikman near the end of his career, you can't have perfect receivers and linemen all the time. Sometimes, you have to help them out.

And yet after 3 years our o-line hasn't gotten any better, if anything it has gotten worse. Every year no matter who was at QB, Parcells always blames the o-line but hasn't really addressed that issue like it should of been.

And to make it worse, We got out and sign immoblie QB's to play behind our medicore lines.

How so? We're not an ancient team, despite what the media and opposing fans believe.

And sorry, but I don't buy the whole act of "but what about the future?!" Because I know damm well that if we were 4-10 right now with the youngest team in the league, you guys would call for his head even harder than you are now.

He's built a competitive team designed to win now, while still adding young parts for the future. Is there anything wrong with that? Our defense should be very good for a while.

Nope, Nav is short for my name (Navid). Thanks.
