Well, these are my favorites:

Lonesome Dove (like Hos mentioned, prepare for 6 hours)

McLintock! (A Western comedy with John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara)

Braveheart (just a great guy movie)

The Untouchables (Great cast with Costner, DeNiro, Connery, Garcia)

Dances With Wolves (A great, great film)

Midnight Run (Excellent comedy)

The Outlaw Josey Wales (By far, Eastwood's best Western, IMO)

Sudden Impact (My favorite of Eastwood's Dirty Harry series)

To Kill a Mockingbird (A classic, starring Gregory Peck)

Sergeant York (along with "Pride of the Yankees," Gary Cooper at his finest)

The Cowboys (A very good John Wayne Western)

A Bronx Tale (Another great DeNiro film that is very underrated)

Donnie Brasco (A good mafia film, based on a true story, starring Pacino and Depp)

Caddyshack (A classic comedy and "guy movie")

13 Days (Another underrated film, this one about the Cuban Missile Crisis)

The Natural (A beautiful baseball movie ... I love the time period)

Field of Dreams (Another good baseball movie from a classic book)

Bobby (This came out about a year and a half ago. It's interesting and underrated, IMO. Sort of slipped under the radar, but a fascinating look at the assassination of RFK through the people's lives who were at the Ambassador Hotel that night. Directed by Emilio Estevez).

The Indian Jones Trilogy has already been mentioned. Can't wait for the 4th one to come out on the 22nd.
Star Wars (Original Trilogy)
The High and the Mighty
The Enforcer
The DaVinci Code
Animal House
The Blues Brothers
Any Jame Bond Movie (except On Her Majesty's Secret Service)
Lethal Weapon (All 4)
Alfred Hitchcock Movies

To add to Hos's list:
El Dorado
Big Jake
Rio Lobo
Rio Grande
Chism
Open Range

I could go on and on but I think that is more than enough for right now.

Alfred Hitchcock was way ahead of his time. And anything by Stanley Kubrick NOT starring Tom Cruise will be reeeeeal good. The Coen Brothers flat kill.

This is kinda "lowbrow" stuff but - I laffed my arse off at "Superbad".

Grandson comes over tomorrow afternoon after school and will spend the night. He is pumped because I told him we would watch The Last Crusade when he gets here. I havent seen it since it was it originally came out so looking forward to it. And then next Thursday the new one comes out. Perfect timing....

As far as other westerns, I thought 3:10 to Yuma with Russell Crowe was good. I saw the original a few weeks ago on the WEstern Channel.

I have had the DVD of Brad Pitts Jessie James movie for a couple of months but have not watched it yet. Anybody else seen it.

Yes.

I thought it was pretty good.

It's fairly long and moves at a methodical pace, but I liked it. Casey Affleck is creepy as Bob Ford. Brad Pitt does a real nice job, too, and the movie is beautifully filmed.

It's not a typical shoot-em-up Western. It has a lot of psychology in it, which I liked.

Has anybody ever walked out on a movie?

Indeed. Pearl freakin Harbor. Ben Affleck is the worst actor of our time + if I wanted to go see a love story would've rented Pretty Woman or something.

There was another prison flick starring Stallone or some other high profile actor. One word title, and it was really great. Can't recall it just now.

It was Lock Up I was thinking of here.

That's the one. I knew it was more recent than 1989, which was the release of Lock Up. Yep, that was better than Stallone's.

An Innocent Man is tight up there with Cool Hand Luke, Shashank, and Green Mile.
