I'm sick and tired of Irvin

The reasoning for the difference between how Irvin, Johnston and Aikman talk about the Cowboys is obvious, though.

Moose and Troy take themselves very seriously. They're out there trying to become top-of-the-line commentators. You don't get there by latching onto players and constantly standing up for your old team.

Irvin, on the other hand, strikes me as a guy who's just out there to have fun and stay around the game he loves. His smile and loveable personality -- along with knowledge -- are what makes him a hit. Take away his silliness and admitted bias and he's not the success he is. He's willing to take hits and make fun of himself -- just look at the grief he takes for his suits sometimes from the other analysts. Stick Irvin in ultra-serious mode and I think he'd get booted off the networks.

Moose and Troy, on the other hand, strike me as guys that are pretty hard to get to crack a smile during a broadcast. When Buck takes shots at Troy, he is usually quiet for a few minutes lol.

Good point Dale. He's charasmatic and emotional, he gets hyped up. That's his gig and that is why a lot of people like him.

mean really. Everytime they talk about him on ESPN. Everytime he is on the Dan Patrick show. Every chance he gets he defends him. Like T.O. is some kind of saint. This is the same man that disrespected the star. And when he did that he spit in the face of the cowboys legacy and to all the loyal diehard fans out there. Yet people like Irvin and all you people who defended him while it was in the process of him being here. Man I hate T.O. And I'm starting to really hate Irvin. He gets on my nerves sometimes. Thats probaly why he isn't in the hall.

Irvin does seem to be driving the "T.O. for President" Bus and it is extremely annoying sometimes but he always goes to bat for the Dallas Cowboys (and Miami ), so I will always be able to tolerate him.

That is who Mike is, when you become a friend of his, he will go to bat for you no matter what.

Quietly get over it. The star incident happened six years ago for Pete's sakes. This is a more mature player whose been forced to have learned a lot since then. If you don't believe in second or third chances, then you're living in the wrong country. Owens will do everything it takes to win, and that's enough for me.

The personalities of Irvin & Owens are made up of the same basic genetic stardust.

Both display(ed) tremendous talent. Both are/were warriors on the field.

However, to me, both personalities are extremely grating, and I don't think either one has a firm grasp of reality.

This team does not go where Terrell Owens goes. Im sure this is the politically incorrect thing to say, but without Terrell Owens, this team still has a strong chance of going deep in the playoffs.

Just like all you heard for a while, and only vaguely hear it now. And all from people who really don't follow football that much anyway. Are the ...well I use to like the Cowboys, after what they did to Landry......

Can the TO vs. the STAR deal be dropped? I doubt it, but it will fade in time.

I seen that comment on this thread, just offering another thought.

Aikman yes, but not Moose. When Moose does our games it is clear he favours us.

Exactly, Mike is loud, boisterous, passionate,opionated and not afraid to go against the flow. In fact I have respect for the man for his unabashed loyalties to the Cowboys, The U and his friends. And Mike has been open about his past trangressions but has found a way to salvage his public image. No problem at all with Mike. But you have to admit that he is usually pretty on point with analysis and I even heard him on ESPN radio last night regretfully admit that the announcer for the FIU v. UM game deserved to be fired. And remember that was a fellow UM alumni. And remember Ditka is pretty much a representative of the old old school mentality. A lot of his rants are barbaric and archaic. He's like the dinosaur you have propped up in front of the camera spewing "back when I was a player" or "back with the Bears" crap. IF anyone is a cartoon it's Ditka.

And as hallowed and as professional as Troy and Moose may strive to be. They are not as entertaining as Irvin. Their styles are different and there approaches are too. But I really don't see them being more prepared nor more professional as Irvin. I'll take Irvin over them any day. And who is to say that you have to be bland and stoic to be good.

Irvin is great on espn, as he was on the field, just like some hated him when he was playing they hate him as an analyst, he drives the show just like he drove the team, he was the heart of the Boy, and he is the heart of the espn crew.

That is one reason why Tom Jackson is always going against what Irvin says.
Irvin will be in the Hall Of Fame, you can believe that, so it really does not matter when he goes in, he will be there.

So the people that posted shots at him for not being there now, too bad because he will get to laugh last, and louder.

Irvin and Steve Young are the only ones I want to listen to, They should give Irvin his own radio show, I listen to the DP show, but I just really just tolerate DP.

To say you're tired of Michael Irvin is ridiculous, the guy's personality is what makes him beloved by Cowboy nation! The guy is right when talks about T.O. and the unfair criticism he gets at time, everything is under microscope with him.
