For anything innovative or unexpected on either side of the ball.
Maybe they can pull something off against the Eagles.
Maybe line the new speed rusher in Ware up on the right side and have him try to outrun the left tackle to the corner. We all know that left tackles are the worst pass blockers on the line and are usually much slower than the quick right tackles.
Maybe line Witten up in the backfield, have him go in motion to the right then run Jones inside left. They'll never see that coming .
I know, stay in the base 3-4 and have the linebacker try to chuck Owens in the slot during 3 WR sets and have Davis line up 20 yards off the ball with slot responsibilties.
On a serious note, does anyone remember a "free" blitzer this year? The blitz scheme is so vanilla that teams are having no trouble knowing who's coming and when. There's absolutely no pressure being applied to the offensive line, nothing being done to force other teams into making mistakes. I was expecting packages to change every play, things to be unpredictible. I guess some things never change. Same with the offense.
The early '90s Cowboys were strong enough to tell the opposition what was coming and still execute it successfully. This team isn't. Smoke and mirrors isn't a bad thing.
