We definitelty just find ourselves facing the lesser of 2 evils.

To bring in Norv or Wade mostly just cause of their "leadership" compared to Garrett or Singletary, when nobody else would give those "old timers" a look as HC cant be terribly comforting. Nor can it be terribly comforting to give the young guns the nod when you dont have the "old timers" backing them up in coordinator roles doing what they do best in the first place.

the guy in your sig is the one that seems to make the most sense, if his health is ok...but we dont seem interested

In a nutshell, the only way Garrett becomes the HC of this team in the near future, is if he is hired as the HC right now. If we wait, he will be gone by this time next year, especially after all the press he is getting about it.

It's pretty ridiculous to just assume Garrett will get a head coaching job next year.

How long were hot shot coordinators like Ken Whisenhunt, Cam Cameron, Romeo Crennel, Marvin Lewis, Gary Kubiak, and Scott Linehan considered "top commodities" before they actually got hired? How long have guys like Ron Rivera, Rex Ryan, Russ Grimm, and Jim Caldwell been listed among the usual suspects without getting an offer?

And now it's a foregone conclusion that a guy with strong Cowboy roots, who's been a position coach for exactly 2 seasons, is as good as gone by next year? Let's be realistic here.

I'm in total agreement here. Reeves makes the most sense. But I'll bet a lot of what I have that Jerry doesn't want him because he can't control him.

My guess is Jerry tried to do it by stepping aside and it just killed him. Not to mention it didn't work. At least he can use that as an excuse to make sure he never again hires a coach that will keep him off the sideline or out of the kitchen.

I think all this talk about Norv wanting control of personnel, etc. is just spin that can be used for Norv to save face in the event he doesn't get the job.

Mortenson started it again last night saying things like it might be tough for Norv to move from the West Coast; Norv may not automatically want the job, etc.

That is just saving face talk, imo.

I agree with you, Captain.

Now apply that same logic to Parcells' "retiring."

I'm disappointed. ;)

Funny story...my wife is still peeved at me for this. She was going through our wedding album picking out photos. She found her favorite one out of the entire album, and wanted to get it 8x10. Well her main concern was what she was looking like...I pretty much looked the same in all of them....so she orders it...and then shows me. Well......that just happens to be the same one that I've got the "shocker" held in front of me. (one of my groomsman was holding it up behind the photographers head).

I waited till the photo came in to even show her. :D

Probably not the smartest thing..but it sure was funny!

I think its Garrett or Singletary

I think Norv is out. Jerry is not going to let him control personnel nor should he with someone like Norv. He isnt Bill Parcells

First, who is this in the picture, and second wonder why the 9ers aren't considering Singletary for the DC position?

I think Jerry might really suprise us with this decision for a few different reasons.

First of all, I like Singletary and think he will be a good Coach for a long time, but I do get scared by the fact that he is not even being given an interview by his current team, for the team's open D-Coordinator job. Instead, guys like Campo are being brough in for interviews, even though Singletary has let it be known he is interested. That tends to make me shy away and I do believe his interview was more to satisfy the rule.

Here is the one that gets me. If Norv Turner is concerned with control, it might be the one thing that makes Jerry shy away from him. I'm all for Turner, but certainly I am not married to any idea, and will support whoever is hired, unlike many others.

What does that leave. It leaves the one guy that everyone has kind of dismissed in the last week. The one guy that certainly will not be in the mix for any player personnel control issues. That's right, Jason Garrett. It all adds up, especially if you add in the fact that Lacewell is coming back, probably to help with some of the personnel issues vacated by Parcells.

The kicker is this. If we hire Phillips or Turner, there is a good chance that Garrett will be hired away from us as early as next season, by someone like the Giants. There would be nothing we could do about it, and who could blame Garrett if he left. The only way we assure that Garrettt is here for the long term, is to make him our HC right now, and skip the Turner/Phillips step.

In a nutshell, the only way Garrett becomes the HC of this team in the near future, is if he is hired as the HC right now. If we wait, he will be gone by this time next year, especially after all the press he is getting about it.

That's why, in the end, I think he names Garrett HC on Monday or Tuesday.

:pray2: :pray2: :pray2: Garrett, Singletary, Rivera...I'm happy. Anyone but Norv.
