Imagine if Pickens was "Holding in."

well, you know what they say? If my aunt had balls shed be my uncle. Gobackin time and name me the last WR that got hurt in their prime and didnt play again?
I’m not saying never play again. If he got hurt you think they’d still give him 30 plus million a year?

Sterling Sharpe was the first "Hold" in I remember but he didn't do it like these new players. IIRC he had told them he wanted an extension and practiced up until the day before the first game and came in that Moring and said I'm not playing unless I'm the highest paid WR.
Looked this part up.
Packers management relented, giving him a $1.8 million salary advance and guaranteeing he would earn $1 more than the highest-paid receiver each year through 2000 without needing performance escalators

If Pickens gets hurt he’s lost out on 100 million…..

How rich is it that a whiny thread is started on the premise of an "IF" by the threadstarter who then turns around and dismisses another "IF" when raised as a counterpoint? Typically, threadstarters wait until a good 7 pages in to reveal their hypocrisy. Lol.

He has me on ignore so he won't see this. The reason I'm on ignore? I called out his hypocrisy in a past thread. Lol

Ironic coz you thank Zeke for Gibbs and Bijan Holding in.......both players, like Zeke, are in the 3rd year of their rookie contracts and owe their clubs two more years (4th and 5th year option ). They are elite/top players at their positions, saying I want my new deal now.

BTW......you can also thank Stephen Jones. Remember when we intentionally ran the hell out of DeMarco Murray the final year of his contract? Dude led the league in rushing yards and touches. He had 449 touches, a Cowboy record for RBs ( 6th most in league history) but SJ low-balled him, saying 'any RB can run behind our O-line '.

Well, Zeke's agent remembered and blindsided Stephen after his 3rd year by threatening to hold out without a new contract. Rather than calling Zeke's bluff, Stephen panicked and rest .......gave him a record-setting contract for RBs.

Murray record-setting year for touches.......

The Zeke contract was our biggest mistake in modern era. Was there another

I pickens is halfway through another season like last year and broke a bone, damn right someone would be paying him 30 million. Makes no difference.... he is under contract, and he is playing.

You are right. It's only been 30 years of futility. No need to doubt the process as Jerry's got this.
Wow 30 years 30 years
How about enjoying the season this year as it unfolds. Instead of whining about the past, which you can’t change.

If Pickens has a better year than, say, Drake London (again). Will he think he should be paid like Drake London? Which is more than CeeDee Lamb.
if Pickens has a repeat of last season he will be top five paid WR.

He’ll pass CeeDee, London and Jefferson and likely fall into # 4 behind Puka, JSN and Chase.

Probably in the 4/145 area.

How about seeing what happens this year. And address the situation next years off season.
Easy to say should have signed him. But things do not always work that way, for what the fans want or think.
A lot goes on that fans and the media have no clue about. Just speculation and rumors.
They’re already hating on next year!

And during the course of that first big contract after his rookie deal he had a career ending neck injury.

You get your money when you can because the next play could be your last play.

Jerry confirmed this, in an interview from his bus at the combine. Those were almost his exact words.

Jerry operates like a mob boss.
Jerry’s an idiot but I doubt he is that stupid to admit such a thing. We need to see the actual video of the interview.

I was gonna ask how the hell did you get ignored lol. Damn…kind of crazy.

The video of him saying what he said and did isn’t enough?

Because that interview posted by Risen

I never said he wasn’t. I said what he’s doing is stupid. As a Cowboy fan I don’t care but I’d never let someone I love play on that.

Would a player that called himself a leader be stupid enough to throw his teammates under the bus on a podcast? Your hypocrisy is hilarious and pathetic. You want me to go away but it ain't happening
