Much to my surprise most of the analysts on tv and radio are bashing Belicheat for that move last night
I think Wade probably would have done the same thing given that we have lots of ways of getting a yard or 2
..but if Wade had done that he would have probably been fired today

Barry Switzer did this TWICE with the same play in 95 vs the Eagles... and went on to win the superbowl.

ZZZZ i could care less.

That's an extremely low % decision at a critical point in the game. You simply can not go for it then.

Wade probably would've just quit after the postgame presser to avoid the further intense critisism...

And Barry was an idiot. That team was still in auto-pilot mode.

First I'd have to imagine that Wade won several Super Bowls. And the fact that Belichick is getting cruicified by the media for his decision last night kinda ruins your hypothetical.

Bellichek is getting pounded by the media for hubris.

Wade would be getting pounded by the media for stupidity.

Regardless, both hubris and stupidity are involved.

Barry, is that you???

He did it before against Atlanta and the Pats converted. Bill took a chance and it failed.

saw that the Pats are like 78% making it on 4th and 2 or less since 2000

They could be 85% for all I care. That's like saying we're 70% on 4 and inches. But that doesn't mean we should go for it on 4th and inches with 2 minutes left at our own 15 yard line. It's a low % decision in terms of being a game-winning play.

Like I said, he ain't getting a pass.

The quotes are brutal:

Yeah, and how about Zorn.

Lines up to punt, motions into a fake punt, but has to call a timeout before the play. Comes out after the time out, does the exact same thing, and amazingly enough, it works. The punter threw a 15 yard pass for the first down. Ingenious right?

Ask yourself this, is there any way in the world Zorn is still the Commanders HC today if he comes out, runs a fake after attempting to run a fake, and it doesn't work?

Belichick was simply playing the percentages. He had a better chance of winning by going for it than if he had punted.

Most NFL coaches don't have the guts to do that, though, so when a coach does, a lot of people think he's crazy.

Zorn's playing with house money and he knows it. We need to expect the unexpected next Sunday.

That call was playing the percentages!?:laugh1:

Making that call on the Colts 40 yard line is playing the percentages

Yes, just imagine if Wade were to win multiple Superbowls........

I would have done the same thing Belichick did.

He knew they were probably not going to stop Manning and the Colts in a hurry-up situation. He also knew they had an extremely high probability of converting that 4th down play.

But comparing Wade and Belichick in any context is sort of a joke.
