Modern day fans have no real idea what was like to follow the great Cowboy Clubs. Even Johnson's teams, they were great, still can not compare to the consistent greatness of those early clubs. It was unreal. I really don't know what the present attraction is for the young people to follow Jones club. We, the old farts, were drawn in by greatness and success. I can't understand it.
And we get yelled at because we don't like mediocrity. We want the greatness of the Cowboys to return. Don't think it will ever happen though I'm sad to say.

Imagine if....

Ron Leary was still here.
Brandon Carr was still here.
Either Barry Church was still here, or TJ Ward was signed.
Terrell McClain was still here.
TJ Watt or Budda Baker was drafted instead of Taco Charlton.
Tony Romo was given a chance to compete for the starting QB job.
Zeke wasn't going through court battles.
Dallas traded for Brandin Cooks or signed Desean Jackson.

This season looks bleak, but that's by the Cowboys' own arrogance and decisions.

Not making the playoffs would be a colossal failure and their own fault.

Romo wins that competition 100% of the time, only way Dak gets that job is through injury.

So u r obviously talking about those 70-80's teams, yes very loaded teams for a long period of time. Free Agency has made all the difference + this league parity thing where everyone can be mediocre. Somehow the Patriots have been able to escape this parity bs. Would be interesting to see those Staubach clubs go against those Aikman teams, I think those Staubach teams would have given Jimmy's teams a run for their money.

I agree with most until the last sentence.

While it would be their own fault I'm not sure I'd call it a colossal failure missing the playoffs this year. I'll wait to evaluate how this core of a team does moving forward .

And it's looking like we might rather have the 6 game suspension this year.

Imagine if Dez was franchised instead of extended.

Is is time to revisit the Dez/Murray decision?
