Imagine the state of this forum if Cundiff had pulled a Feely.

What if Cundiff had another chance in the Denver game? No, I take that back. What if Cundiff had two more chances in that Denver game? And he missed all three, not just the one he did actually miss.

If he'd miss 3 in one game.....cut his throat. Buh-bye!

You'd still have some geniuses saying Newman's missed INT was more crucial in the loss.

Yes, it's true.

Ask Winky.

I guess I don't get your point. Cundiff missing that easy field goal was HUGE! So another kicker missed three. So What? Does that make Cundiff's miss any less huge?

If you are saying that the board would be even more up in arms about the misses had he missed three then, yeah, it would. And why not? I don't know if JimZ was merely being sarcastic or if he was serious, but I would echo his answer. Cut the little bastid's throat.

Are you implying that it wasn't crucial?

One could argue that it was every bit as crucial as the missed FG.

.

Nope - I'm not implying that at all.

if he had made 21/23 going into the game, and two of the misses were from 45 and 54 outdoors in Seattle, I wouldnt have said jack

1st 25% would commit hari-kari
2nd 30% would jump out a window ala 1930's stock mkt crash
3rd 25% would realize its a 60 minute game
last 20% would say thats Karma

No kidding at all on my part....he would HAVE to be cut. Would ANYONE, much less BP, have ANY confidence in him?

I'd say that the confidence level with him is marginal as it is.

Cundiff missed a kick that was seven yards shorter than Feeley's in a partially enclosed stadium on turf. What does that have anything to do with how we would feel.

Another poster stated that the conditions of the Giants game weren't ideal. I asked him if he could post what the field conditions were. According to the "gamebook" on NFL.com it was sunny and cool (in the low 40s). Not necessarily a bad situation to be kicking in, but let's not make excuses for Feeley he's missed one under 30 yards also this year.

If any kicker is proving their worth this year it's Rackers, Nedney, Hall, Vanderjagt, Wilkins and Dawson. All are batting 90% or better.

BTW, Cundiff is at 68% for the year, but he has very few attempts.

I know I said Cundiff made me nervous and people liked to chide me for it.. The Denver game didn't do anything to help matters.

I certainly don't think Dallas will "rue the day" they cut him as some stated (even though he was hurt at the time  ......maybe the day they resigned him.

Say what you will about Feely. That still does not make Cundiff's error any less than what it was.

I only expect kickers to make kicks that are under 40 yards...everything else is gravy.

If the offense drives the ball inside the 20 yard line, you've got to come away with 3 points every time.
