Jerrah wants one. OK. WHO are they? Obviously Johnson and Peterson are two of them. Is Landry one? Okobye? Ginn? Adams? Offensively I really only see 3- Peterson, Ginn, Johnson. Defense means pass rush; Adams, maybe Carriker. Thing is- I do not see hardly ANY of these guys going low enough for us to get one of them without giving up too much.

This is Jerruh freaking Jones we're talking about here. Don't try to crawl into his head and define what a word means to him. There's a significant chance that, deep down, he still thinks Troy Hambrick is an "impact" player.

Mr. Jones is the greatest owner in NFL History--like E.F. HUTTON.....when he speaks....well, you know.

I think you have to put Ginn on that list due to his return abilities; especially after the impact Hester had this year. And the QBs are out of it.

You can listen all you want but if you honestly think Jerruh is going to tip his hand a few days before the draft, you got another thing coming. Of course, he wants an "impact" player. Who doesn't? But "impact" is one hell of a vague term and it could conceivably encompass any single player in the entire draft, let alone whose ever there at #22.

An IMPACT player is not someone who will fall to 22. Its someone who at worst will fall to maybe 12, or so.

That's your definition.

Is it Jerruh's?

YOU do realize that he was specifically talking about Johnson, don't you?
Using him as a yardstick, its clear such players as Jarret and company do NOT qualify?

It seemed to me that he ruled out the QBs. Later on he said that there were 4 offensive players good enough to make him trade up and there were 3 or 4 defensive players.

The thing that worries me is the 4 offensive players. If he is not counting the QBs then you have Johnson, Peterson and then who? Is he talking about Thomas and maybe Brown? I just can't see him moving up for an OT. So, is he including Lynch and maybe another WR in the four? That's what scares me. If he is including Lynch and another WR (Ginn or whoever else) then he might, stupidly in my opinion, make a trade up for one of them.

I think on the defensive side he was talking about Landry, Adams, and Hall and maybe Branch.

Man I hope not. I just don't see what ever loves about Ginn. He is fast (which Jerry did talk a lot about today) and he could definitely help the return game (well, really just the punt return. I can't see him doing much better than Thompson or Austin did last year).

But the guy really doesn't strike me as a legitimate weapon at WR. If we are going to draft a WR in the first round, then he better be someone who can eventually start for you. I just don't think there is a very high probability that Ginn will ever be a good starting WR in this league. He might be, but he is a risky pick in my opinion and I would rather not trade up to get him.

Jerry specifically put Ginn on that list. On the show with Hansen he stated that a potential "wow" player could be a return guy that contribute elsewhere on the team. It really sounded as if he was specifically referring to Ginn in that line.

But I'm 100% against drafting Ginn, much less trading draft picks for him. That's a monumentally stupid idea.

Thanks to you as well. People can argue he's an impact player. He may well be. He's not a top ten player. It's not the consensus anyway. I hope we don't spend our number one on him.

Yeah, I agree.

I'd rather see the Cowboys pick Figurs in the 3rd round than Ginn in the 1st round. Figurs is a WOW guy.
