I agree, but the question remains, "Will they do just that"?

It took Reid five years to seek a trade for a top wide receiver like Owens after it became apparent to him that his West Coast Offense wasn't going to take the next step without a premier receiver. Since Owens' exit three years ago, he hasn't attempted to fill that void.

The closest that the Eagles have come to providing McNabb with a bonafide gamebreaking receiver is DeSean Jackson. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Jackson will not evolve into the next Steve Smith and they'll still be stuck at the drawing board.

Reid's coming up on ten years in Philly. I wonder if he'll pull the trigger again and trade for another #1 receiver before the city's love affair with him runs out?

I don't know but it would and wouldn't surprise me. Reid's been there a long time and still hasn't produced a SB. That's the one position they probably need to get near us.

And I agree about DeSean mostly. I do think he will help in the return game. I'm not ready to dismiss him as a WR but I'm not afraid of him. I am happy that Adam Jones should at least neutralize the field position if not tilt it in our favor.

I'm ready for Jerry to throw something out there to land us a WR but I don't want him to give the farm away either.

Those clowns are 7-1 at the stadium since reid showed up and started kicking our *** relentlessly. THey have ruined our season 2 years in a row.

That is our toughest game of the year next monday imo.

Stop being such a drama queen and overstating Reids' success over our Cowboys.

In Reids' 9yrs he's 7-2 at the Stadium. Overall he's an impressive 13-5. But really not much better han he was expected to do going 6-0 against the 15-33 Cowboys of 2000-2002. He also went 2-0 against the 6-10 2004 Cowboys.

So overall he's lead the Eagles to a perfect 8-0 record against 4 losing Cowboy teams and a 5-5 record against 5 winning Cowboy teams.

But 13-5 is still 13-5 and to the victor go the spoils.

As much as that sucks, Cowboy fans can take solice in the fact that we have clearly past the Eagles.

They may sneakout another split with us, but I wouldn't bet on it. Either way they are looking at a second straight finish behind us in the standings. And a very likely Cowboys run to the SB.

SHELDON STICKS IT TO SHEPPARD, ROSENHAUS
Posted by Mike Florio on September 3, 2008, 8:11 p.m.
Eagles cornerback Sheldon Brown sounded off on Wednesday regarding the perceived negotiating tactics of agent Drew Rosenhaus, who represents cornerback Lito Sheppard.

Brown wasn’t happy with comments Rosenhaus made in a recent Sprint Exclusive Entertainment video, during which Rosenhaus pleaded his case for Sheppard to be in the starting lineup. Sheppard currently is No. 2 at right cornerback behind Brown.

“If you know [Rosenhaus’] track record, it’s more of a disappointment to me that he enticed the guy into signing with him,” Brown said. “Thinking that he could get the deal done. Agents don’t get the deals done. The player gets the deal done. That’s what’s disappointing.

“I wouldn’t say it bothered me, because I’m bigger than that, I’m a professional. . . . Drew hasn’t been with Sheldon Brown for seven years; I think he’s been with Lito for two months. He hasn’t followed by career. He hasn’t broke down any film; he probably couldn’t tell you what number [Brown wears]/ It’s really irrelevant. . . . [From watching the video] you would think the guy has been scouting tape and know[ing] the statistics and following us our whole career.

“A lot of times, people should just worry about their [own] jobs.”

Sheppard, spotted in the vicinity while Brown was making his remarks, professed ignorance. “That’s between him and Drew,” Sheppard said. ”I didn’t say it. [Bleep.] What did [Rosenhaus say]?”

Sheppard then went on to ramble aimlessly about discuss the situation, offering up contradictory and confusing explanations. At one point, he blamed the T.O. drama of 2005 on the media.

This one isn’t nearly as ugly as the Owens saga from three years ago, but there’s a chance that it could explode. Especially if (as we hear it) the Eagles don’t intend to trade Sheppard, or to give him a raise.

The reality is that for all of the talk about all of the personalities and egos the Cowboys have, the Eagles ownership has the greatest ego of them all. They continually stick to their system of paying players and no matter how badly a player has outperformed their contract, they usually refuse to give them the raise they deserve. But as shown with Owens and now Sheppard, players will do what it takes to make the team miserable and once again the drama is in the Eagles locker room, not Dallas'.

do some homework on the giants and what they said about the playoff game. They said seeing how the eagles beat us proved we could be beat. They also used the same schematic attack. The games are extremely similar.

It started a whirlwind of trouble for us, just like in 06.

You mean like the way the Cowboys are doing DeMarcus Ware? :laugh2:

I see it like this, if you signed it then thats what you get. The only time I could see it differently is on a rookie contract. They don't have a whole lot of choice when it comes to how much they can make. Of course you get worthless guys who get huge rookie contracts too.

Get a pass rush and concentrate on Reeves. A real hard one to figure out.

BS. The eagles taught no one a thing. Against the Packers they were saying that they had to get a rush on Romo. That got talked up pretty well.

From the report, Rosenhaus said his client should be starting which, Lito is now the Nickle CB behind Samuel and Sheldon Brown.

WIP610 was saying that things got very heated between Lito Sheppard and Sheldon Brown who are very good friends and came into the league together.

Words were exchanged between Sheldon Brown and Lito because of Brown blasting Rosenhaus about Lito not starting over him.

Lito said that Rosenhaus can do what ever he wants as long as he is out of Philly ASAP.

Wait a second...CNNSI picked the Iggles to go to the Super Bowl! This can't be!! :D

Rosenhaus causing trouble for the Iggs again...can't say I am exactly crying for them

Ware will get his contract in the end. There's an unwritten rule in the NFL that players have the right to want a new contract if they are outperforming their current contract and the team should be willing to negotiate with them. The reason being is that the owners have a favorable situation with contracts not being guaranteed and being able to cut players who are hurt or underperforming.

In general, teams like Dallas abide by that rule and thus don't have many holdouts. Teams like Philly don't abide by the unwritten rule and have everything in their favor.

There was absolutely no reason in the world for Philly to not give Owens a new contract. They had plenty of cap room and he was clearly outperforming his contract. But, the ego of the Philly front office decided differently and paid for it in the end.
