Impressions from being at the game

When you think about it, it's just a word. It's not a racial slur or a bad name......it's just a word.

Well, it's all about the meaning behind words really. Curse words share meanings with other, accepted words like screw, crap, darn, they're basically just expressions of frustration or anger. Racial slurs are different though because they carry a meaning that can be derogatory, not just offensive, to someone else. That's why they're more than just words, because they carry socially harmful meanings.

I have no problem with offending people, although I don't go out trying to do it, but I don't think one should support degrating another person, which is what I would see use of a slur as.

Danny is going to be soooo jealous when you guys get your new stadium. There have been rumors here that Snyder would like to build a similar type of stadium possibly in DC. He wants to host a Super Bowl at any cost. I would be happy with a stadium like they have in Seattle myself.

This is a public event and children are encouraged to go. That said, it is illegal to use profanity in public and you can be ticketed for it. That actual law that is attached to it, differs based on state, city, and county, but no matter were you are, you can be ticketed for it's use.
I swear like a Sailor, but my kids think i'm a saint - never ever ever curse in front of them.

When I go out in public, I never swear at all, but you come around me with all guys around , or just my wife and I, or close friends, people doing stupid stuff while you're driving like cutting you off, you will hear words from me that weren't even discovered yet.

Don't do it in public, just be respectful. (still do it though, it feels too good not too ;) )

That makes a lot of sense:rolleyes:

and no... EVERYONE doesn't use it!

Don't roll your eyes at me, you babe in the woods.

If you raise your children sheltered from everything that modern life throws at them, they will be at a HUGE disadvantage. These are the kids that go to college and end up dropping out in the first year because they can't handle the environment or else they get in trouble with their newfound freedoms.

I live in a small town with alot of the "old school" values and have seen this happen to 5 or 6 kids who went off to college not knowing what the real world was like because they were brought up without ever hearing a curse word or seeing a drunkard. They are maladjusted in today's world and it causes alot of them to fail miserably in a social setting.

It's just advice. Take it or leave it.

That's the point I was trying to make.

Racial slurs and other bad names are not acceptable anywhere or anytime. That's a given. Words like that can incite some serious consequences to the people that use them.

As for curse words......to me, they are just words, and therefore are just not worth getting upset about. What are you gonna do.......fight every person that says the F-word in front of your family? Good luck with that, people.
