Improbable TD before the half

I think this deserves its own thread.

Defense gives up a demoralizing TD with 45 seconds left. Kickoff gets us to the 28 yard line with 40 seconds left. First play is a sack backing us up to the 21 yard line...in my head I can hear the gameday thread exploding about how boneheaded low IQ Dak can't give up a sack right there.

My first reaction after the sack, is to let time run out and go into the locker room with the lead before anything else bad happens. Instead Shotty calls a timeout with 31 seconds left on our own 21 yard line. Now I'm like ok..can we get 25 yards to give Automatic Aubrey a chance at the record.

Next play...a beautiful dime to Pickens 44 yards. Now im just happy we at least minimized the damage down by the last Washington TD. Let's take the FG and go into the half with an 8pt leaf instead of a 5 point lead. But start to ask, do you take another shot or settle for the FG. It's a run play...ok, we are positioning Aubrey for the FG and running down time...but no, JW runs 33 yards down to the 2 yard line. I'm contorting my body and leaning forward trying to will JW into the endzone. At this point, still happy we are going to get a FG but a little disappointed that extra defender was there to save the TD. Only 15 secs left no TOs, time for one more pass play...can't have a sack, no penalties, got to get rid of it if nothings there. A lot of risk to take on potentially last play after going 77 yards in 11 seconds. Still expecting only a FG out of it. Then BAM Dak to Ferguson for a 2 yard TD!!!!!!!!

Has to be one of the most memorable before the half drives in Cowboys history and against the team I despise the most. It was a thing of beauty!!!

When Dak took the sack I was screaming how stupid they were and let the clock run out

I then saw the comments of the Pickens catch

That TD won the game and broke their back. It was a one score game and their ball and to give up a score like that was demoralizing

I was also hoping for a FG but a tuddy right before halftime was really the perfect outcome.

It was looking like the Football Team was going to score at the end of the half and then again at the beginning of the second half to get right back in the game. It was a very timely TD.

This is a good point. With this offense, the gas pedal should be consistently smashed down until it's time for the Landry Shift.

Totally awesome drive and not something we are used to seeing. Totally set the satge for the rest of the game.

It's what we wanted to see last week...a "high pressure" drive to put the nail in the coffin. Hope the coaches are looking at that for a winning formula in the bag.

Yep. I said it last week. A #1 offense...elite?...has to have the foot on the neck all the time, every time.

We are fun to watch right now, no doubt about it but it's like watching Christmas day as an 8 year old with 100 presents to open (our offense) and then a scary Halloween horror film (our defense) on repeat......again........and again.

Yup....that was the key to the game.

The offense ( although impressive in the 1st quarter) was looking i was going into FG mode, but that TD put a stop to that. It was beautiful to see

I don't think we'll be seeing that as much now. League is on notice, this is a legit high-powered offense.

Correct and I was ready to settle for a three I mean we needed points because we knew that they just scored a field goal , and got down there in a hurry,

that drive was so smooth and easy, It was incredible. I mean that's what this offense is supposed to look like with all these weapons but let's not take away the fact that we were playing an actual healthy defense a really good defense with a solid defensive line, and we ran on them, we threw on them, and we don't want to hear the excuses they're trying to make for our defense playing a less than healthy offense we beat the crap out of their defense...

Now I'm starting to hear all the the tractors once again uh oh be scared the Bo nix and Denver Broncos because of what they did in the fourth quarter against the Giants and only one by two that we should now have to score 50 points to win that game that's literally what people are saying it's so ridiculous the Recency bias because they came back and won no what I saw is 3/4 of bad football from them and the Giants had them dead to rights and three missed extra points lost that game And while it's impressive that they can come back like that in 1/4 and set a record what I saw is 3/4 of bad football and we'll use that tape to our benefit and by the way Brandon Aubrey's licking his chops it could be the day where he sets the NFL record and then resets it with a longer one and that altitude..


Yes this offense can score but it can't ask to be perfect all the time and I hope I defense continues to improve but it already started with the be scared of the Denver Broncos because we haven't won there in a couple of decades well you know what those type of streaks are meant to be broken... I would like to thank the New York Giants for showing us for 3/4 the blueprint to beat that team because we're going to use that to our advantage not what happened in the 4th quarter and I don't think that our kicker is going to miss three extra points but that is a perfect blueprint...

It demonstrated the sheer mastery Dak is putting on display now about as clearly as it can be. 80 yards in 45 seconds even after taking a sack to start things off? That is STOOPID... Thank you for highlighting that dew drop dime to Pickens. Lattimore was right there even with hands on Pickens and the ball still dropped right out of the sky into the bucket. I loved when Brady called it a "40 yard handoff!" As a receiver you just love those.. It looks like you made a spectacular play when in reality that thing was all on the QB. You would look like an absolute rube if you dropped it. Dak is ballin.. Until the defense gives me at least three straight games at this level I am not going to get emotionally invested in the SEASON but I am going to enjoy the HELL out of watching Dak and this offense. Especially watching the Dak haters implode the day after the games!! LOL!

Same thing happens with me. The streams are always behind....and sometimes I just can’t help myself from “peeking ahead.”

With that quick TD striking series to end the 1st Half, Dak cemented himself as MVP worthy. Dak is playing crazy lights out for us this season.
