So you get to define what is someone's honest critique and what is "hate"?

Hmmm...interesting trick.

Critiquing a play or two every so often throughout the season is being a "critic".

Lambasting and bashing the player nonstop, every day, every week, every month and every year is absolutely being a "hater".

I never have hated on CeeDee, but a few of us (along with Michael Irvin, Keyshawn Johnson, OchoCinco, T.O., etc) said it was CeeDee's fault for some of Dak's INTs last year, specifically against the Packers. That's not hating. That's just pointing out facts.

As for the "haters" part of the title, before I even read your comment, I asked one of our mods to please change it to critics after reading @acr731 's comment to me. I got the message loud and clear and felt it was too harsh of a word to use, so I asked for the word to be changed in the title to "critics". Hope that was good enough for you.

Good to see you can have a different view on this. Thanks for the change. Small effort but this will support a better forum culture!

You can never silence all the critics. That's why you mainly ignore critics. They don't have your best interests in mind. They only want to be negative, and long for the days when they can say, "I told you so." It is one thing to receive construction advise on how to improve from those you know have your best interest at heart. It is quite another thing to listen to random critics who only want to burnish their own "expert" credentials.

This is why complaining, when you have no power to affect the outcome, is such a complete waste of time and emotional energy. All it does is affect the complainer negatively - and why on earth would you want to spend time discouraging yourself?

I would agree. So who was doing that to CeeDee? Must have been dozens or hundreds of them to justify making a thread about it.

Thats an understatement. I know after some early drops this year I was down on him. He is now the superstar we all thought they were getting. It wasn't a question of, is he a wr1 or not. We knew that. He was going to be a top 10 guy. But he is now in the conversation for the best. It's awesome to watch.

I called Ceedee a 1B or a really good #2 type WR. He's better than I thought, no doubt.

I actually don't comprehend doubling down on being wrong and spewing crapp to try to prove something. Why is it so hard to just say "He's better than I thought he would be"? I mean, I'm ecstatic at what he's become. How can anyone not be?

I didn't see Pollard as an every down back. Unfortunately, I was right on that one.

I thought our D would be much better w/ a legit NT. Hankins has proven me right on that one.

We have two contingents on this site of homers and haters. They do nothing but spew all day and incessantly gripe about the other group. It appears to be all they have in their lives, whining and moaning about the other side.

Most of the board ignores both of these sides. There's really not all that many on either side, they're just so obnoxious that it appears as if there are more of them.

I'm 100% right there with you brother! I'm a Longhorn fan as well, and you're right, CeeDee was a HUGE THORN in the Longhorns side during his years at Oklahoma. That's how good he was and is even better now! We were sooo lucky the Eagirls passed him up and allowed CeeDee to fall to us in the draft to pick #17!!!

The Eagles drafted behind us that draft, did they not? Their fans were pissed he fell to us from what I remember. They took Raegor.

2023 version of junior high. Adult words like criticism, critique, assessment, opinion, judgement, evaluation keep getting replaced by terms like 'hater'. I realize you didn't say it, AC, but it still makes me shake my head every time I hear it.

Now to stay on topic, CeeDee has turned into one of my favorite players on the team. From what I can tell he isn't constantly on social media making promises he never intends to keep or telling the world how mad he is, and he isn't on there complaining about the referees. He just goes to work and busts his rear end. I have a lot more respect for work ethic than I do for mouthpieces.

So what would the correct term for me to use when referring to members here who have wished injury, death and call our Pro-Bowl QB a loser, who they never give him any props? Hater is being too kind, I think. No?

I had no problem with Parsons until reading that thread yesterday about leaving with Quinn. He's a Cowboy for now so I'll support him 100 percent. If he leaves, SCREW HIM!

Back on topic. CD is had a record breaking 2023. I see a lot of double teams this Sunday. Let's see who steps up. I did frown on that blasphemy tattoo he got on his back though. He'll have to answer for that one day.
