Didn't even need hindsight for it. Taking an RB in the top 5 was dumb when we had so many other holes to fill.

Though I would have went Jalen in the first and Jack in the second. Maybe we wouldn't have had as good of a 2016 season, but our defense would be looking better right now.

I always liked Ramsey but given a time machine, I'd go back and take Leonard Floyd

How can anyone even want to go do the hindsight thing when we were 13-3 with the draft we had? And I love when people do the "had we taken this guy we would've got this guy..." type posts......you never know how taking someone else would effect the rest of the draft. We may never get Dak....we may never get Collins.

You prefer a good RB over a shutdown corner?

Ramsey:
On May 19, 2016, Ramsey suffered a small meniscus tear during rookie training camp. He had microfracture surgery on the same knee in his sophomore year of high school.[ On May 22, 2016, Ramsey signed a 4-year deal worth $23.3 million featuring a $15.1 million signing bonus. On May 24, 2016, Ramsey underwent surgery to repair the meniscus.

....that's 2016.

Stop trolling and answer the question. Do you prefer a good RB over a shutdown corner?

#3 ranked CB, part of one of the better defenses in the league with a ton of upside. A lot of it has to do with how he is shutting down one side of the field.

A shutdown corner >>> RB.

Anyone saying otherwise is ridiculous.

While I’ll agree it’s typically much harder to find a great CB than a great RB, there’s just no way you will convince me Ramsey would be more valuable to this team than Zeke. When you built a wall of an OL with three all pros...putting a dynamo like Zeke behind it is far more game changing than one good CB. Zeke controls the clock and puts points on the board. ESP for our situation, Ramsey makes a fraction of the impact on our overall Ws and Ls compared to Zeke. On our defense in our scheme, I’m not even sure we would be talking about Ramsey, who btw had about exactly the same stats last year as our sixth round CB, Brown. Ramsey plays on a fantastic defense against a lot of the worst teams in the league every week. Good player for sure, not sure he is as good in Dallas. As long as Zeke stays out of (more) trouble, for us, Zeke was the right pick for us 1000x.
If we are going to lament and rue picks Zeke should not be one. We should instead talk about Jack vs Jaylon or Byron Jones vs Collins.

You can still lament the Zeke pick and the Jack - we could have had them both, and actually, many on this board wanted just that.

And sorry, but even with Zeke, we are 3-3 right now. Most here have said we are losing due to our defense. I don't know if we would have won more games with Ramsey and Jack, but what I do know is, if we had them both I'd be feeling a lot better about our D and it going forward.

I have nothing against Zeke - great player, but the nature of the position is it's one that is easily devalued. You rarely sustain a winning team on the back of an RB - you can sustain a winning team with a stud defense, and Ramsey and Jack are part of a defense that is becoming one of the best in the league.

Really no getting around this for me, we missed on two key building blocks for our defense. We also missed out on Casey Hayward last year when we were interested but never went for.

Jack would be playing SAM here so would be getting the value from him since we use a lot of nickle?

He couldn't hack it at MLB either. Jax kept trying him there and at WILL and he kept struggling.
