In Matt Cassel's defense

This game reminded me of the Pats game a few years ago, Romo threw 3 picks against the Lions and Garrett played conservative against the Pats the following week.

There are so many examples like this.
In 2009, we ran with Barber 3 times in a row on the goal line against the Broncos, and he got stuffed. The next game (chiefs), in a similar situation, we throw 3 times, and nothing. Garrett is a mangina

In his defense, he has Garrett as his head coach.

.....great point. He has only looked decent when he replaced Brady. NE helped him get paid and secure work. He has stunk on a regular basis since leaving NE.

That is what good coaches do. They make players look better. Every time Brady has been hurt they have done well with the back up QB. That is not a coincidence, it is coaching. On the other hand we have Garrett and the results prove all we need to see. He gives us no advantage on game day. Romo has made Garrett look much, much better than he really is. Without Romo, Garrett isn't even in the bottom tier of NFL coaches.

If it was time for a change after the NE game despite putting up plenty of points vs. Atlanta and N.O, it is certainly time for a change after two miserable performances vs. NY and Seattle. It's clear Cassel doesn't know the offense or the receivers well enough, and his arm is very suspect.

I think you go back to Weeden and hope he learned something the past two weeks, or you go to one of the other young guys, but we must put up points vs Philly while avoiding turnovers.

That was one of the the most dominant performances I've seen in a while against an elite QB.

Wade Phillips is a fantastic DC.

yes cassel is awful and they probably wont win a game until tony gets back but the broncos was the windshield and the packers was the bug

Moore, Weeden, or Garrett next week.

All roads probably lead to 2-7, but at least the narrative in between the losses would change a little bit.

Weeden once threw a 98-yard TD pass to Josh Gordon in Cleveland. That's more yards than Cassel had all game yesterday. Play Weeden until Tony comes back!
