I tried In and Out the first time I was in Phx and was not impressed.

And since Yeager weighs about 360 lbs.

That's saying something.

There is a local chain here in Albuquerque called Lota-Burger that most like more then What-A-Burger. They are OK but the best Burger's I have ever had are right here in New Mexico. Out on N14, headed towards Ceder Crest, is a little hamburger stand called Burger Boy. They server all sorts of different hamburgers. You can get a Bison Burger made from real Buffalo meat or you can get a Blue Cheese Worcesteshire Burger with Blue Cheese cooked inside the burger or you can get a Smoke Bacon Burger with Smoked Pepper Bacon or Hickory Bacon strips (not fat) that go about an 8th inch thick on your Burger but if you want my personal opinoin, the Green Chile Cheesburgers are as good as I've ever had. Half Pound of top ground, grounded there at the stand, with two pieces of American or whatever you want, grilled onions and fresh Hatch Green Chile chopped and seasoned with Garlic.

Really is as good as I've ever had. If you ever have the chance, you should stop and check it out. You'd be doing yourself a favor.

I cant STAND Blakes for burgers, although the breakfast burritos rock. Not to mention most of the blakes are trashy and in trashy parts of town. ie the one on Mateo off Gibson, the one on Central between Wyoming and Eubank or the one off 4th and Candelaria. I LOVE eatting with homeless people sitting a table down from me. That said i cant believe you didnt mention Griffs or Bob's burgers. I seriously LOVE griffs, bob's I can do without. Eventually I'll try Benny's since I live in los Lunas

My wife took the kids to INO in AZ when she went to Tempe to see her dad. All she could say was over rated and total crap.

I live within 3 miles of Heart Attack Grill and that place makes me feel dirty every time I go there b/c of the mirrors on the inside of the counters.

I do like the burgers though.

Sounds good, my New Mexico brother. There's a hole-in-the-wall place here called Burger Nook and the green-chile burgers there are the best I've ever had. It's run by two sisters and they make each burger carefully and slowly. You have to call ahead and order, then pick it up about 30 minutes later. It's really not a fast food place.

Every time the burger debate comes up, the California/Arizona group touts In-n-Out, and the Texans all chime in about Whataburger. Both are overrated, but at least In-n-Out burgers are cheap and not overpriced like Whataburger.

Anyway, the truth (and the best) lies somewhere in between California/Arizona and Texas.

Overrated as what? They're fast food burgers. By your own admission the hole-in-the-wall place you're touting is not a fast food burger. So what's your choice for fast food burgers?

In-and-Out is probably like Wienerschnitzel. I love their hotdogs, but quality they are not. :laugh2:

I used to eat the chili cheese dogs when I lived in California. Then they opened a couple up in Dallas / Fort Worth and I was damn happy. Then they closed them, but I guess since I don't live there anymore it didn't matter.

They could never open one of those near where I live. It took Subway like 5 years to get approved to open and that damn near didn't happen. No way a joint like that could open.

Either Blake's Lotaburger, or Wendy's.
