In need of WRs

Man, our wide outs are going down fast. Last count I had the #3,4,& 5 WRs down for the Browns game. We need to find some experienced players fast. I know eligible WRs will become available with the next cut, but I was wondering who is available as of NOW.

Any ideas?

In the NFL.......this is called an opportunity for the FA rookies.......probably how a Drew Pearson, a rookie FA also, found a crack in the 70's......

Its up to a Jefferson, or an Amodela to be ready.....for 1 on 1 coverage

You want your 3 top wide receivers to be starting calibur.

You're 4th receiver can be a project

You're 5th receiver needs to play special teams at least to stay on the roster.

We have

1. Owens (#1 rating)
2. Crayton (#3 rating)
3. Miles Austin (Injured #4 rating)
4. Sam Hurd (Injured #4 rating)
5. Danny Amendola/Isaiah Stanback/Mike Jefferson

Stanback would have won the 5th receiver spot, and I'm not sure either Amendola or Jefferson were good enough to demand a 6th receiver spot. But Austin and Hurd being injured really hurts us, especially since Crayton isn't really even a #2 receiver. Right now we're looking at:

1. T.O.
2. Crayton.
3./4. Mike Jefferson/Danny Amendola (I think depsite Jefferson being farther along, and more physically atuned to football in the nfl, Amendola gives you better special teams)

So somehow i think we're gonna go

1. TO
2. Crayton
3. Stanback (my guess is he plays from the get go)
4. Amendola
5. Hurd (injured)
6. Austin (injured

we'll be forced to keep six due to injuries. We'll probably try to trade jefferson for a 6th round pick. We'll take 3-4 receivers on game day.

Fact is though we do have too many project receivers on this team, we always have since the Terrance Copper days. Trading Galloway away, and trading Bryant put this team back like 3-4 years in the receiver department.

Its too bad we can have terry in there for game 1. But i think we might see him in game 2 depending on how things go for our wide receivers. I completely expect us to gameplan like Philadelphia around our tight ends and our running backs.

Wade Phillips already said he will likely only dress 2 wr's game 1. That leaves 2 WR's not dressing unless they IR Stanbach. Phillips and Amendola have no ST role and reason to be on 53.

New TE / Witten / PAC / Felix Cat can play some 3rd looks.

Link? If he said that, it was a mistake. No one would ever dress just 2 receivers.

Don't shoot the messenger, but this is juicy, albeit unconfirmed...

560 WQAM in Miami is reporting (unconfirmed at this point) there's a possibility Dallas and Miami are trading Bobby Carpenter for Ernest Wilford. Reports are that a deal is in the works. Wilford is a WR (6-5, 218) who Miami acquired from Jacksonville this summer and has so far been somewhat inconsistent in Miami's training camp.

I had to post it...

Two teams trading busts - Kid is still better than Lowbar, Phillips and Amendilla

Psst...we don't have a receiver named Phillips.

You'll have to forgive Nors. He fell and hit his noggin whilst doing drunken broad jumps in his kitchen.

Phillips did not say he was considering only dressing 2 WRs for game 1.
