You want your 3 top wide receivers to be starting calibur.
You're 4th receiver can be a project
You're 5th receiver needs to play special teams at least to stay on the roster.
We have
1. Owens (#1 rating)
2. Crayton (#3 rating)
3. Miles Austin (Injured #4 rating)
4. Sam Hurd (Injured #4 rating)
5. Danny Amendola/Isaiah Stanback/Mike Jefferson
Stanback would have won the 5th receiver spot, and I'm not sure either Amendola or Jefferson were good enough to demand a 6th receiver spot. But Austin and Hurd being injured really hurts us, especially since Crayton isn't really even a #2 receiver. Right now we're looking at:
1. T.O.
2. Crayton.
3./4. Mike Jefferson/Danny Amendola (I think depsite Jefferson being farther along, and more physically atuned to football in the nfl, Amendola gives you better special teams)
So somehow i think we're gonna go
1. TO
2. Crayton
3. Stanback (my guess is he plays from the get go)
4. Amendola
5. Hurd (injured)
6. Austin (injured
we'll be forced to keep six due to injuries. We'll probably try to trade jefferson for a 6th round pick. We'll take 3-4 receivers on game day.
Fact is though we do have too many project receivers on this team, we always have since the Terrance Copper days. Trading Galloway away, and trading Bryant put this team back like 3-4 years in the receiver department.
