throw down a playlist or two for us.
make yourself the target of wisecrax and chicanery but also give us insight iinto what ails you. lol

I am buying an Ipod Shuffle if I ever get a day off. I need something portable for when I am whacking keys at work. Anyone with experience taking their mp3 collection and getting it set up in itunes is also quite appreciated.

I don't know much about Ipod...A couple years back I got a cd/mp3 player.

I just burned MP3's to a CD and played them on it.

I could put a HUGE amount of songs on one CD that way (in mp3 format instead of the wav format for normal cds).

Plus the thing plays regular CDs.

To be honest, unless you plan on jogging or something where you are moving a great deal, I would rather go with the mp3/cd player.

If you have a cd burner in your computer you just get all of your songs you want, open up the burning software, choose data cd option and then burn all of your songs to a cd.

Using iTunes is very easy. Even I can do it. I got a shuffle a month ago. It is great.

Currently, I have some Usher, Ludacris, Trick Daddy, Dido, Kelly Clarkson, Sarah MacLachlan, FouFou, The Shins, The Killers, Willie Nelson, Ray Charles, Annie Lennox, Lenny Kravitz, Thelonious Monk, Amber, The Beatles, Elvis and a couple of other things playing. Just a wide mix, I know. I haven't broken things down into any sub-sets, yet.

Yea I like the protability so I can use it at work where I switch between various servers as well as a desktop, and to workout at the gym.

I have burned like 90 songs onto CD at a very high quality and that is a great option for the car. Getting head decks with mp3 is essential, IMHO.

You are almost as eclectic and wide ranging as me, lol.
I tend toward a little hardcore but just as varied.

I was figuring on 5 playlists of 50 songs. Maybe 1 list of 90 or so lesser quality ones for if traveling. I am getting just the cheap 512mb version cause I had a 128 mb mp3 player that actually worked fine 90% of the time. Its software sucked bad tho.

I have the 512mb and that is plenty for me. I also got a FM transmitter for the car. Obviously, the quality isn't quite as good as plugging in a CD. I just like having access to a large playlist.

Jay Z, Kid Rock, White Stripes, Green Day, Nirvana, Led Zeppelin, Ozzy, Scarface(Geto Boys), Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Robert Johnson w/ Eric Clapton, Red Hot Chili Peppers, No Doubt, Ice Cube, Eminem, 50 cent, The Roots, M.O.B., Dave Matthews, Black Sabbath, Nas, Paul Wall/Swisha House, Toby Keith, Pantera, P.O.D., Linkin Park, Rick James/Teena Marie, Lenny Kravitz, The Eagles, Avril Lavinge, Bessie Smith, Billie Holiday, Lynyrd Skynard, Biggie, Prince, Pac, ACDC, Jimmy Buffet and many more.

I have noticed the more I vary my music the more I enjoy the subtleties of each genre.

mp3 players? where's the fun in THAT? i'm kinda sorry they don't make a good car-vinyl-LP-turntable. with a pocket for the "discwasher".

(and the list is about as alphabetized as the discs are arranged in my vehicle.)
