In what world is Lance Dunbar a better option than Zeke on third downs and end of games?

I don't think there's one person on this board who disagrees.

Maybe so but few were up in arms about it weeks ago when the team kept winning.

It's inexcusable. It should get people fired. You're taking arguably the best RB in the league off the field for a complete bum and doing so on the most critical downs in football.

It may be the dumbest coaching decision I've seen yet and the motivation behind it is to protect him. Think about his future and feelings. The entire thing disgusts me.

For me, injury has ruined this player...gun shy might be my view of his play.

I see threads about this every time Dunbar plays, so at least some on this board are up in arms. It makes no sense. You're right - you used the 4th pick on a total stud - ride that horse unless he comes off the field on his own.

The 2 dumbest things going on with this team is the emergence of #16, and the need to get Dunbar on the field.

I see why they want to do it, but it's will never materialize with Dunbar. We don't have any package that will maximize his strengths. They would be better off with McFadden. Dunbar is simply in the way.

And I don't know why they're using #16. He's been nothing but a bad omen since the Skins game.

Am I the only one that was thinking this? I couldn't believe the coaches thought that one of the best 3 down backs on the planet, needs to sit in almost all critical situations for a JAG!!! The stupidity blows my mind!!!
The answer to the question in the subject of this post is, "no world." I was going to say Bizarro world, but even there Dunbar would be watching from the bench.

Why is Dunbar even on the team?? Weak, injury waiting to happen and no ability to break tackles

Would rather see DMac in that roll - tough runner can hit

This was by far the most baffling, frustrating part of the game last night - seeing Zeke on the sidelines in critical situations. I honestly can't think of any good reason for those decisions.

In college, Zeke was a very effective reciever. I would think he'd be in the game because if you get him the ball in open space he has the absolute ability to take it to the house...our coaching is just sad.

DUNBAR is no RB - he is a lower version of Beasley. Make him a receiving WR - like Marshall Faulk used to line up at or near the LOS

Well, our coaching has us at 11-2. With pretty much half a roster and a rookie QB. Hard to kill them for it.

But whoever birthed this idea of replacing Zeke for Dunbar should be fired. There are some decisions so bad there is no other alternative. If you thought that was a good idea you're an idiot who should not be in this organization in any capacity.

The problem though is nothing, underlining nothing, gets done in Dallas without the approval of the owner and he's not firing himself.

Here's a radical idea. Cut him. Move on. Nothing to see here. The guy can't play.

3rd and 2 at midfield start of the 2nd quarter. Zeke's out, Dunbar's in and Prescott throws a pick.

The coaching staff put the team in a position to fail and they did. All because they don't want Zeke to be sore in retirement.

Yep, definitely taking this guy out for Dunbar in passing situations. Seems like a good idea.

Good points ... it always comes down to Jerry unfortunately...and its only 1 game, this Sunday they have an opportunity to shows us what they are made of...

They are falling for the "saving" him mularkey

He is a young bull........keep feeding him and keep Done-bar off the field except for blowouts

I don't understand how Zeke wasn't in a single time in that final drive. You put him in for his blocking, if anything.
My only observation was this was planned.

With a 3 game lead on the Gints..

I think they did not want to extend themselves with 3 more important games coming.

Better to save it for this week at home under the roof on a fast track.

Beat the Bucks and get the needed win and then rest players.

The team has played it's heart out.

One last win and I think we can relax.

This is the time of year where injuries can end a season.
