Inefficiency of our first down runs and passing game bailing us out on 3rd down

If you want to trash Moore, trash him for playing Zeke over Pollard. It was Zeke running that was the predictable part. Couldnt bounce it outside and could be stopped with a 4 man front most of the time.

You must have short term memory loss and forgotten what it was like when Garrett was the OC.
I think if he didn’t run Elliot as often as he did, Tony Pollard would not have lasted as long as

Without the forced burden of Zeke, that should be easier. With Pollard, you have to account for the whole field. Inside or outside. He can break tackles and take it all the way. Makes people miss. I would think Deuce has that in him as well.
But he, Kenny take the beating. Elliot took.

DO NOT POST ABOUT ACCOUNT BETTING.

Respectfully, that same person who offered the account bet loss two or three other account bets to me. He's not even supposed to be posting anything right now, but that problem child didn't honor the bet results when he loss.

The "punish anyone that thinks Dak sucks" attitude is why you'll never be in any position to punish anyone.

You don't believe in Dak either. You're just jealous if us that aren't afraid to say it. It makes you mad so you rebel like a child. If you keep replying to me I'll prove to everyone here that you don't believe in Dak and are simply playing a character here. So, hush up now.
Are you still confident that Dak won't be ranked among the top 10 QBs in the polls of players, coaches, scouts and execs this offseason?

You ended up looking like a COMPLETE buffoon after you confidently made that claim last offseason.

Just curious if you learned your lesson or not.

Go ahead and double down. Would love to point and laugh right in your face again. You're used to that.

There are a number of things I could trash Moore for. Pick one!!! With that said, I'm glad his predictable, non in-game adjusting *** is gone. Period!!

Pollard was the much better back and should have been the feature. As early as 3 years ago. They could have ran other backs. Keeping ZEke around was a huge mistake. Shouldnt have even been here.

Im glad he is gone as well. However, he was never as bad as his detractors claim he is. And especially after Garrett, he was a breath of fresh air if anything.

His downfall was either having to feature Zeke or doing it on his own over Pollard. That right there would hinder ANY OC.

That being said he still had the #1 scoring offense in the NFL with Dak as his QB the past 3 seasons. And he did as our once great Oline continued to fade.

Your not understanding.

1. Elliott sucks, who cares how many carries he can handle?
2. Another, better RB or 2 could have shared the carries with Pollard.

You’re not understanding I guess. Can Tony Pollard take the beating that Elliot took. The third and one period up the middle play Cole. Maybe they just won’t call that play anymore

I really wasn’t a fan of Ezekiel Elliott. But he was excellent at pass protection. Excellent at third and one. There were certain things that he was the best that. Things I can’t see Tony Pollard doing.

Can Pollard run straight into defenders on every play because thats all he can do? I dont think he is that stupid.

AS far has handling close to 200 carries he did that. Not that one season proves anything.

Pollard has proven he can run with power, break tackles, run up the middle, run wide better than zeke. Catch better than Zeke. Heck even the pass blocking lie was exposed.

Zeke was better at pass blocking, however Pollard was perfectly capable.

Zeke was NOT excellent at 3rd and 1. In fact in critical 4th and short instances they started going to Dak because Zeke was having problems.

There is no evidence that Zeke was better than Pollard on short yardage situations.

Personally the short yardage is much about the Oline than the back. Pollard could at least bounce outside if needed so the predictability on short yardage was less with Pollard.

#1 scoring offense INSPITE of his many deficiencies due to pretty solid talent on offense.

With that said, if he was so good as a coordinator, where were all the bidding wars for his services from other GMs the last 2 or 3 years?

Hopefully the new coaches come up with a more creative ground attack too.

Also notice the inefficiency on 2nd down runs.

https://www.bloggingtheboys.com/202...rst-down-efficiency-dak-prescott-offense-2023

Looking over this data, it’s clear the Cowboys, who finished third in the league in scoring in 2022, had serious problems on first down, running the ball at a clip higher than almost anyone in the league and falling significantly below league average in each efficiency category on first down. This put them in poor positions, and forced the quarterback, Dak Prescott, to be a hero on second and third downs in order to convert a new set of downs.

This is illustrated by Dak’s air yards per attempt numbers (and rank among QBs w/ 100 plays of each down):

  • 1st down: 6.3 (27th)
  • 2nd down: 7.8 (7th)
  • 3rd down: 11.3 (2nd)
If Mike McCarthy can put a heavier emphasis on first down in 2023, and the Cowboys can improve their ability to generate positive results early in a series. It will make them a more consistent and explosive unit.

Oh, and the last time Mike McCarthy called plays for an NFL team, the 2018 Green Bay Packers finished seventh in EPA per play and third in success rate on first down, while passing on first down at the second highest rate in the league. So he’s done it before.
I’d take a guess as to why… probably our offensive line was waiting for the other guy to change the way they block.

In seriousness I’ve wondered had we not been in 2nd and 8 with like with a near zero chance of RB1 picking up 8 yards even the threat of it, how that would help Dak.

Hopefully we find out if Pollard is healthy

The video proves you wrong, yet you keep trolling every Dak thread while spewing the same vile lies. Yeah, you're deliberately breaking forum rules, AND YOU KNOW IT!!!
he really doesn't understand football at all. watching a video is way over his head. if you notice none of his posts are actually football related. just TMZ. and he is a final stat sheet guy, and he reads something and its negative and he keeps picking at it, because he has nothing else.

he is entertainment. like the village idiot. just throw him a bone now and then and he keeps busy chewing on it for a while
