Inexplicable and Unbelivable, but we have the #1 Offense

What I find funny is, it doesn't matter who the opponent is, the Cowboys are in the game to the last second.

Bucs, Broncos, Panthers, Giants, or even the ****ty Chiefs. The Cowboys have the talent, they just perfer to suck just enough to make it a game with whoever they are playing.

Everybody plays us like it's the Super Bowl.

The premise of this thread is beyond ironic.

Yeah it's mind boggling to what we could be if we eliminated the mental errors...

numbers don't lie but than again they don't always tell the whole story.

I've long contended that Garret isn't the problem. No matter the style of offense or the play called, it won't be successful unless the players execute properly, and the Cowboys often struggle with execution.

Our team is like a car with many high performance parts but are poorly put together, with gasket and pipe leaks and loose bolts. The car sounds fast and sometimes goes fast, but is incredibly inefficient and is prone to breaking down at any time. We need coaching staff who can fix this car up and then we can truly compete.

Our problem has never been our ability to move the football. Our problem is what we do once we start moving the football. It's the stupid mistakes we make that end drives or take us out of scoring range.

We just have to stop turning the ball over.

At least today there was only one on offense, I guess.

But I do wish we could line up without using up timeouts. IMO we have too many moving parts at times.

I'll take 5-0 with the 30th ranked offense over 3-2 with the #1 ranked offense every time.

I'm sure we'll talk again at the end of the season. Being undefeated (esp w/the one of the worst offenses in the league) at this time of the year is nice, but essentially meaningless.

You got me, beating one of the worst teams in the league was huge!!! In overtime!!!:laugh2:

:lmao2:

It should have been a walk in the park but somehow became huge cause we have been on the ropes for a while, the irony...

Agreed.

Meaningless stat when you lose big games and barely beat subpar teams.....

yeah how dare the giants beat up on Commanders, Bucs, Raiders, Cheifs and put up 417.x amounts of yards/game...damn them...

The Lions just called and they want their title back. How dare you throw that honor around so easily.:D
the Chiefs actually have been toe to toe with many good teams the last two yrs, just could not find a way to win'em ...

Something about calling a draw play from your own 2 yard line just screams idiot.

We're on the same wavelength. Head scratcher for sure.

It is not really surprising.

We are entirely capable of putting up empty statistics that allow us to delude ourselves into believing we field a powerful and consistent offense.

we have been told a monkey could run this offense.

It was the whole team.

I think a monkey would have been unchallenged with only the offense.

Biggest problem this team has right now is shooting themselfs in the foot. Some moan about the play calling but the plays called do not matter when a team is making stupid mistakes. Plays are there for the taking it is up to the players to make them not the coaches.

I think another factor is that since they do not force many turnovers on defense, the Cowboys never play on a "short field". They always seem to need a long drive to get points.

Well, the Foreskins have played the Lions, the Rams, the Panthers, and the Bucs. Where are they ranked?

:hammer:

We have played 3 of the worst teams in the NFL.

If the Players and Coaches are in place as Jerry Jones stated, we should be putting up good numbers statistically.

Unfortunately, if you watch the games, you will come to the conclusion that the Cowboys are extremely mediocre.

This fact can't be emphasized enough. Our D has been stellar at times, swiss cheese at others. But one constant is that they do not consistently force turnovers. It doesn't even seem to be a mindset with this team. Dropped interceptions. And when we gang tackle, nobody tries to strip the ball. Even when we sack the QB, we do it so gently that the ball probably won't come out. So far, we have a really nice guy defense. Then when one of our guys has the audacity to lay the wood, i.e., Alan Ball, he gets a bogus penalty. I hope things turn around after the bye.
