Heading into Eagles game I thought Lee was good but not that good. After watching film on Eagles game - It was easily Lee best game of his career. Just by looking at eagles alignment he had studied so much film he knew which play they were running. That part didn't surprise me. What did was his closing speed that was elite. This week we hear that his knee was wrapped but he isn't on injury report. In philly, they don't wish they had Romo, Dez or even wanted Murray. They guy they want is Lee.

Other notes:
* If Hitchens (at MIKE) and Wilbur (at SAM) continue to play at high level I am not convinced McClain has starting position when he gets back. Maybe he would be apart of rotation.
* Patmon has been better than Scandrick so far. Byron Jones has been very good covering TE. Both will be tested this week and we will have better gauge of how far along they are.
* OL needs to step up. Way too many penalties. Dallas brought in extra refs for practice this week to make sure their blocking habits are legal.
* Dunbar could be your offensive MVP over next 7 weeks.

First time I've heard either of these things. Thanks for the heads up. I'm usually on top of the news/gossip.... hmmmm :(

I don't think so. I want Dallas and Weeden to play smart but I do not want them playing scared. If Dallas keeps everything around the line of scrimmage I think we play into what Alt is gearing up for.
This does not mean I want to see Dallas go pass happy but you got to make CB know that you will attack them down field if they are cheating up and if they bring safeties up towards the line Dallas must make them pay. You just can't play this game scared.

Scared? Why would we play scared. Julio is going to get his but we have to know that and make them pay dearly if they go to him too many times. Our D will limit their very good offense to about 20 points. It's Weeden's bus to drive. I think we have a very good chance to win this one.

I mean scare offensively to run their scheme. Dallas can't try to over protect Weeden, you still have to run your offense. I think defense will play well but you still got to put up points

I'm Iooking for the OL to bounce back Sunday. I'd start to have some serious concerns if we can't run the ball much better against the Falcons.

Good thoughts.

Atlanta is building up their trenches but they are not fully there yet. Their O line should be exploited. We would destroy them if we were playing them a few weeks later w Hardy and Gregory. As it is, I expect a big game from Crawford and Lawrence.

On the other side, our O line should be able to push them around. Vic Beasley was a good pick for ATL but if he lines up opposite Tyron he will get a football lesson all day.

I do not expect a huge variation in game plan from us with Weeden in. He should have time to make his throws and Cole Beasley will have a big day.

Both teams have really accurate FG kickers and I see this coming down to a FG or two.

My prediction: Dallas 23, Atlanta 20

Oh I wouldn't worry about that, dem Boyz are going to do what dem Boyz do. I have faith that Weeden will do a good job at distributing the ball. Remember we have a new offense assistant named Romo that will be in Linehan's ear.

I agree but I also think Dallas and Weeden will have to back the falcons off, Dan Quinn knows the situation Dallas is in and I'm sure he is going into this game geared on shutting the run game down. Only way I know of to back a team off the line is attack them through the air. If they give us 1 on 1 matchups Dallas will have to take it. I do agree running in this game will be important but I don't think we get much running wise unless we can back Alt off the line

Weeden does have one strength
He has a big arm
I agree we have to run and stop the penalties but as you said we have to
Make them pay if they stack the line which I expect they will

I think Dunbar is the "secret weapon" so to speak. His vertical threat we saw mixed with running ability are going to come in handy throwing the d off balance. Just my opinion.

My initial thought is that this game is certainly winnable for us. But I think it'll need to be an ugly one. #1 on the list is we need our defense to be what we hope they can be. Force a couple turnovers. Make the Falcons work for every yard. Beat'em up. The other piece is the O-line. If our O-line can dominate it will give the offense the best chance to be successful. If the O-line can play up to their potential I believe the rest will fall into place.

Weeden needs to go deep in this game. He throws a good deep ball. Terrance is good at getting deep. They can use Butler a couple of times too. I just think the pass could set up the run in this game. Be aggressive. I think it would surprise the Falcons. The Cowboys on defense can get some interceptions. Ryan will throw some picks because he stares down his receivers alot. Even without their two best players on offense, The Cowboys are still the better team

I feel Dunbar has to be used extensively in this game like the first one in the slot.

They can keep Hitchens in on Nickel even if RoMc plays MLB on base. They only play base about 1/3rd of the snaps.

If Hitchens moved to SLB in base then he would be on the field the same amount that he is now.

No. They would want Romo.

And yes, Lee has been that good forever. His issue is staying on the field.

I agree on your score prediction...a 3 pt. game either way. Team that wins will turn it over less and make one more big play. We will win if we take Julio away and run the ball for 120 yards or more

Lee has always been THAT good. His one and only problem so far is that he hasn't been able to pull together an entire season staying healthy.

I don't know how any Cowboys fan who keeps up with the team could think that. Nor did I understand all the nonsense about McClain being better last year.

Sean Lee is our best defensive player...and by a lot.

I cannot agree with you more.

If he had (has?) a healthy 8-10 year career, his stats would be HoF worthy. For a LB, he is an INT machine. If I recall correctly, one year he was leading the NFL in INTs at some point.

The guy is everything you want in a LB.

Outside of Julio Jones, I don't really fear any of the Falcons receiving options. Jones should always be doubled. White can be handled one on one as well as Hankerson.

I agree about Dunbar. I always thought he was a waste of a roster spot, but he's been making me eat crow. Hopefully he keeps it up.

I totally agree !!!
