Initial Thoughts on the Seahawks game

A lot of really good points.

I think Heath may have been a little too deep on the pass, but Willson was supposed to get jammed at the line. We're not talking about Antonio Brown we're talking about a 2nd TE breaking Church's ankles. Church is a linebacker and we STILL need a safety after all these years.

Free is done. He has to play the best game of his life every week to look above average.

Defense was nuts yesterday. Nothing bad to say, except secondary NEEDS to find a way to get turnovers.

The call by the refs is going to sit with me as long as the Dez catch. It's disheartening and ruins all momentum a team has because I wonder if they think "what's the point," Somewhere deep inside? If a game is so close and so hard fought but you can't get BLATANT penalties/calls (not difficult ones: PI, fumbles with not enough evidence) I mean one where the clock is STOPPED and the refs can't get it right, and because THEY can't get it right YOU get punished....

I don't care what complainers say when their complaints aren't grounded in what's actually happening on the field. Not a whit. Not a smidgeon. Not an iota. It doesn't matter to me. At all.

I also don't care how many people tell me McDonalds is 'ok food.' And I don't care what's going with the Kardashians, if that gives some perspective.

I will enforce the forum guidelines, though. I don't see where those things overlap all that much, I guess.

It seems like a good idea for Mods to post and express opinions just like everyone else.

Xwalker,

Great review!!! Unfortunitely, the players cant out-play terrible play calling without the other team messing up big time.

X - great thread. I'm disappointed, but I understand the situation. I still get the feeling that with a healthy Romo, we're undefeated. Silver lining - Collins looked good at LG. If Green can replace Free next year, we're set at OL for the next 5-10 years.

Ok, ok. If we're being completely honest, I like the Egg McMuffin's just fine. And even the coffee is ok.

On the Kardashian thing, I'm very happy to report that I have almost no idea what you're talking about. I'm vaguely aware of Bruce Jenner's sex change, but that's literally it. One of them is married to Lamar Odom or something, but I only know that because he almost killed himself taking viagra for a prostitute or whatever or I wouldn't have heard that. I just see those idiots on tv or a magazine cover and I shed a tear for our planet every time.

One was really fat and now is not quite as fat.

The Jenner daughters went from old photos that show them as very plain looking to now being hot. I'm sure no surgery was involved...

Doug Free is absolutely atrocious.

Wouldn't hurt my feelings at all if we went RT in round 1 next season. I hope Chaz Green is as good as billed.

Really want to add Will Fuller from ND. That guy is playing as an NFL receiver right now.

I haven't read a single peep about the HP pass called the other day (could have missed one in all the complaint vomit on the board of course). With long standing complaints about vanilla playcalling, I would have thought it might get a mention. Or do none of the complainers actually watch the games? Or does it not count because it didn't work?

It was a good ball too. And under pressure.

Maybe McFadden should get a start at QB, lol.

But we both know there's a significant contingent of fans who will complain just to complain, regardless of the who-what-why of what's actually going on. With 5 straight losses, there is plenty of criticism to go around. But criticizing and complaining aren't the same thing.

Lame....real lame. This "significant" contingent of complainers is all in your head. Even folks that have been steadfast supports of Garrett are starting to see the reality and I wouldn't cal them complainers in the least.

In addition, I think most folks that would fall into your label of "complainers" gave props where they were due last season and even in the Packers loss, I don't recall a lot of finger pointing except maybe at Murray for the fumble. And Jerry got enough love this off-season for acquiring what would have been the equivalent of 3 first round picks.

The problem is that Garrett is your sacred cow. He's beyond reproach or question in your world. We're in year 5 and right about now I'm almost begging for 8 and 8. Ahhhh, good times.

I wish I had the All 22. I know that Brodus will do a review on a few plays. He mentioned that he would find it shocking if there weren't guys open down the field. I will be curious to see if our receivers are getting separation.

But I don't know if that is good or bad to be honest. So if our receivers are open, but the QB isn't hitting them, that's bad. But if they aren't getting separation, that is bad too. You wonder, if it is not the receivers getting open. Weeden had the same problems. Or it could be that Cassel and Weeden both suck equally. I don't know but this season sucks.

The fat one is probably the prettiest one now, save for Bruce Jenner ...who is looking better than his ex-wife. Plastic surgery? Say it isn't so......

Lol. What color is the sky in your planet? Whether you think it's lame or not, it has the benefit of being 100% demonstrably true. Welcome to the Dallas Cowboys fan base.

And that's not true, either. It's not my fault if you don't want to credit any of the criticisms I make. They're right here in black and white if you somehow didn't read them the first time. Just because I don't count 'generic play calling' as a particular problem in Dallas, doesn't mean I'm not critical.

I told you guys two weeks ago that changing the QB wasn't going to fix what's been wrong because the new guy isn't good enough and we had too many problems going on elsewhere. I've been saying it until I'm red in the face, and I still get silly responses like this where you're saying I think the coach or the team is beyond reproach. The ST coverage problems almost bit us again yesterday, too, btw. And the inability to block for our returns was on display again, too. At the end of the day, Garrett's the coach, and the buck stops with him. If he can't fix special teams or he can't keep the offense from giving away the ball or get the defense to take it away, he's out of a job. Just like with everybody else in the NFL. But let's not insist I pretend the problems with the team are something they're actually not, just because that would make it easier to level the criticism on the coach directly and our fans are too simplistic to place the responsibility where it belongs.

You and I both know that if Tony were under center and we were losing games to the Giants because of defensive and ST scores that people would be blaming the QB play for the losses, too. That's how fans work. It doesn't mean they know what they're talking about.

Open with Romo as the QB is different than open with Weed/Cassel as the QB.

Weed/Cassel need them to be wide open while Romo just needs them to get a step on the DB.

Dez was NFL open on the first pass thrown to him but the ball has to lead the WR on a slant route but that did not happen.
