With a team that has a GM that has real consequences for his actions, I wouldn't mind tanking one bit

i mean that's kind of the point. they were already playing poorly, AND lost their best players. also they're dealing with a new coach, and a new scheme, diggs coming off an acl, there's plenty of reason to suggest that they could improve, especially given they've been a dominant unit previously. so it sucks.
