Looks like the roster spots dilemma is working itself out with all of these injuries.
Now they will have a dilemma of what players to designate IR to return. Well, I think they can bring 2 players back this year, but don't have to designate which players. Not sure on that though.
Rico, possible of his concussion, but he should be ok by game 1.
Hitchens, 8 weeks, so he will be for sure. Green, who knows. But with a high ankle sprain, I would put Duke Thomas in there. Green should be ready, until his next injury, next week.

No designations this year. You simply can re activate two players off of IR throughout the year. No doubt Hitchens will go to IR so they can use that roster spot. Duke Thomas likely will to but will stay on it all year unless they need a CB at some point. Gathers isn't going on IR. With all the suspensions and injuries, there are enough roster spots for Gathers, Brown, and Neal to start the season. Kellen Moore may make it for now but I think he will be released to make way for one of the suspended players. That way they can be almost 100% assured they can bring him back on the PS or as a coach.
The thing is with Moore, if he is on game 1 roster, his contract is guaranteed for the year. They can release him, then sign him after the 1st game. Then if released again, and / or bring him back to the team or PS, that does not count as much against the cap.
I don't think Moore is vested yet.The thing is with Moore, if he is on game 1 roster, his contract is guaranteed for the year. They can release him, then sign him after the 1st game. Then if released again, and / or bring him back to the team or PS, that does not count as much against the cap.
I think they will be fine paying him his original salary which can't be much even if he is on the PS or a coach. In fact, I think paying him the same money would be part of any deal to bring him back. That may keep him from looking around for other offers and will be worked out well before he is actually released.
I don't think Moore is vested yet.

Did he not have his Midol in the locker? This is the guy who left practice and was escorted out for ... cramps!

Did he not have his Midol in the locker?
Chaz Green stayed down on the turf after that play because of a minor ankle sprain?
I used to think he was just really unlucky, but I'm starting to think the dude is actually just soft.

Chaz is marshmallow. Not a football player. No talent in the world will cover his being a poof.
This should be his last year with the team, if at all feasible. Not an ounce of toughness to a guy who's in one of the TOUGHEST positions in all of football.

Left guard candidate Chaz Green has a minor ankle sprain but not clear when he will practice. Cornerback Duke Thomas has a high ankle sprain as well as a sprained medial collateral ligament.
The guy was a Florida Gator. You'd think he would know about hydrating with Gatorade. Not only is he soft, but stupid as well.
