INT or Pick?

I think it's a good idea, although it is a bit of a stretch to decide who's fault it is that the ball was tipped. Saying it is somehow not the QB's fault when it is tipped by a DB but IS the QB's fault when tipped by a defensive lineman, is just too complicated. And the QB is partially at fault in either case, anyway. What if the lineman drops into coverage? What if the DB tips it and then intercepts it?

And to top it all off, if you can figure out a reasonable way to distinguish picks from INT's, the stats for all QB's of today would artificially improve compared to previous QB's. That whole debate would fire up.

It's a good idea, but the mechanics of deciding it would just be too complicated.

There is no objective way to judge something like who's fault it was that an INT happened.

The only real way to know is if the team assigns blame, after the fact, and any stats generated from that could be tainted as well.

I've been thinking about this for a while and wanted to get some input from you.
IMO I think there should be a difference between an interception and a pick.I feel an interception should apply when a DB gets the ball without it being tipped or touched from an offensive player.A pick would the apply when the ball is tipped, batted or anything else that applies.QB's get tagged with INT's that are sometimes not their fault. An INT or pick would then improve a QB's rating, depending on what they have the most of.What do you think?

I agree there should be some way of scoring so as not to saddle a QB with an INT on his stats that was not really his fault
