What the server are you are using? What kind of download speeds are we talking about? We will have probably have a good 30 people downloading this. We would need a good 500k-1MB/s link.

Yeah I am real shady :rolleyes: . The quickest way to get in trouble with copyrighted material is to sell it noob.

I have SBC DSL, and I think recently, they said they upgraded me to 3 MB, but not sure if it is both upload and download. Either way, I think it should be above 1MB upload speed in my estimation.

I'll do some research and see if I can setup a server or not in the weekend.
 
Ok guys I got someone to help me host the files and he has a really fast connection. I will start converting the games once I get them in the mail.

The download speed is determined by the user's ISP/newsgroup provider (In most cases it's the ISP's provider), i.e. I'm on Comcast 4 megs download so my speeds will be around 500k a second, newsgroup servers are used to hundreds of thousands of people using them at once so rarely do you see anything slower than max speeds. Again, the hardest part would be uploading and so it would have to be broken down. I would break it down into .rars (About 15 megs each) which users can use a free app called WinRar to put back together once they download each file.
 
I went into DCF United & spread the word that we needed someone to help with this. I hope I didn't cross the line. I just want to see this happen. I know there are several people in here who have worked to make many videos happen. What about Calico, TEK2000, or JDSmith? Has anyone contacted them?

Hey Cogan,

We got a really fast host so I will start converting them once they arrive in the mail. Should be today or tomorrow and then hopefully I can finish the conversion/upload over the weekend.

Hey Cogan:

I got word over at DCFU. If I had the files, I would help to see that they are hosted through a third party host server. My ISP is top notch so no problem with downoading and uploading. Storage on a free account is 1 Gig. So you need 5 accounts. The bandwidth is the best available for a free service. It's still going to be slow for many and you cant use a download accellerator either. If you can get an independent server then you cound host them one by one this of course will be the best option. Do the Torrent option if you cant get the independent server. I'm sure we can get enough people to seed. I will certainly be seeding. I have a huge HD. Keep me posted on the developments. If I can help let me know. If you make these available I will download them and try to make them permanantly available for the various boards.

Not to be a downer or anything, but aren't there copright infringements to be taken into consideration? All NFL games are copyright protected and if you post them for public consumption I THINK there could be some legal hassles.

Is it any different when we people tape a game and sell it on ebay? Is it any different when we make highlight videos with NFL footage? This has been discussed before and that is why the Zone has nothing to do with this.
 
Ok guys I finished converting the games. I was able to get all 5 games to 1.37GB using xvid codec.

Should be done around 6-7pm. I will PM everyone above this post who said they wanted it. If anyone else wants it PM one of the other guys. This took a lot of work and I don't want to have to answer a bunch of PM's.

The last time I hosted the NFC Championship games nobody would help seed and it took forever. We are all fans helping other fans so give a little back and help upload/seed. If you don't help upload you will get banned from the download.

Is the quality any good?.. that's a pretty small file size for over 15 hours of video. (I'm assuming that's the entire broadcast game and not just a short version highlight video of each game)

We got some good speeds going guys so feel free to spread this to different boards n stuff. Get it will we have people uploading; trust me it wont last long :p
