Anybody interested in taking a flyer on Justin Durant? You can't fix stupid, and that's exactly what McClain is. Durant is injury prone, but at least he'll a veteran locker room guy and not make any terrible decisions.

I thought Justin was a decent player and Marinelli seemed to know how to get the best out of him, so I wouldn't be upset with a encore. He was giving a contract more than he was actually worth when he left for Atlanta, but who can blame him for leaving.. Its business. But I honestly can't see it happening. His MO is being injured, he's old in "NFL terms", and has surely lost a step. On the other hand, he's a team player, a decent fall back plan, and at this point.. More reliable than our current MLB. Smh.. That's not saying much though.

we have enough fragile linebackers. Check that we have enough linebackers that for whatever reason cannot play 16 games.

Its just not going to work with McClain. Even with an "arrangement" he finds a way to stay in trouble. I won't just call him "stupid" because I don't know what he is dealing with.

I would be OK with Durant, solid player.

I'd rather see Nzeocha, Hitchens, Damien Wilson, or this Deon King guy..hell, go get the kid that's been hanging outside Valley Ranch..atleast he shows up everyday! I'd rather see these guys be giving a chance to step up and make Rolando irrelevant.. I'm tired of his charades.. You either are part of the team, or your not! Don't let the door hit ya in the.. I digress.

Personally.......and I know I well catch crap for this.....but I rather have Bruce Carter back. At least he could get us Interceptions. That being said not sure if we get a solid starter unless we trade. Let's see what we got with Wilson. Lee, Hitchens, Wilbur will most likely be starters.

We need to hit on Jaylon no questions now. LB is a top priority next draft......well any level on defense is priority

I liked Durant as much as McClain in 2014. He doesn't complement Lee as well though. And he's not durable. But he's a good athlete and a good guy. I'd be all for bringing him back to fill the hole McClain just re-created.

I'm also interested to see Wilson and Gnotzcheea play. At some point, we have to play the guys we draft.

Yeah seems like we draft alot of them and yet we never have enough.

I'm at the point of moving Smith from FB back to LB, at least its a thought.

Bruce Carter (With the Jets now though, I believe) AND Justin Durant.

Don't care about "retread" - This is what happens when you rely on a pot smoker and a kid with a bum knee.

Durant played well under Marinelli I would hope they would talk with him about returning. As I mentioned in another thread it is about adding real depth to the LB core

All in all, that is what it really comes down to.

Adding a veteran who could step in if the young players can't play or another starter goes down makes too much sense.

But don't hold your breath.

I wouldn't mind him especially later in the offseason when his price drops more. We should have gone after Lourenitis. (However you spell it) that being said why not look for a starting caliber Middle Linebacker out there and throw in Leary. We get one of our weak spots filled and Leary is starter from day 1 on new team.

His best days are long gone, just like most of the others listed.
