I thought it was interesting that the only team to go 14-2 in the regular season and lose to the same team twice was the 1999 Jacksonville Jaguars. They lost to the Tennessee Titans twice that year.

They got the bye and home field, but it wasn't guaranteed until week 17.

The Jaguars beat the heck out of the Dolphins in the divisional round to the tune of 62-7! All seemed well, until they faced off against the Titans in the NFC Champ game and lost 33-14. The Titans went on to the Super Bowl.

There is no guarantee that this could happen again, but it does dispel the prevailing view that it is nearly impossible to beat the same team three times in a season.

It does make me nervous about facing the Giants again.

We didn't get to 12-2 by being scared of anyone. A little context from the NY game. A slippery cold night with ice on the ground is not the game I would be afraid of. Imagine a nice comfortable game in the warm confines of the AT&T stadium.

When the Cardinals were in the NFC east, the Cowboys went 8-0 vs the NFC east that year........ then lost to the Cards in the playoffs. I think it was something likes 45+years since their previous post season win.
My point is when the playoffs start, nothing is safe. Ever.

Dallas beat NY twice in 2007 met the giants in the divisional round and lost.

All we have to do is lose another game in the next two weeks and Voila! Curse over.

New York is successful because they have one of the few defenses capable of knocking the Cowboys offense off schedule in terms of down and distance.

I don't remember that. We only played cardinals once in playoffs and that was in late 90's and lost.

We lost by 1 point to the Giants when Dak and Zeke played their first ever game. Might have won if Williams steps out of bounds. We led that game most of the way.

We lost by 3 points to the Giants in a frigid cold away game when Dak had his worst game of the year. We led most of the way. Game is going to OT if Bailey had another half yard on his FG attempt. Only big play we let up was a crazy OBJ catch and run.

We will have reinforcements on defense. We will be at home with a wild crowd. We have the better team.

I'm not afraid of playing the Giants again even one iota. I would much rather play them again than the Packers, Falcons or Seahawks. Unfortunately, I think the Giants will lose the first round so we will avoid them. Some will cheer. I'll be bummed. I want revenge on them, and I think we would take it easily.

They also get the benefit of phantom catches and an extra half yard on every Beckham catch.

Well what makes anyone think the Giants win their wildcard game?

May not happen this year, but they have beaten the Packers twice in the playoffs at Lambeau in the Eli Manning era.

This is a historic season for us in many ways. Let's not let this team's success be predicated on the team's previous failures, and certainly not the failures of an entirely different team.
